Dead drop completed.

Receiving this giant portfolio of competition prints for the Fort Worth Camera Club was one the highlights of my day.

A club leader and I coordinated the handoff of the prints at a local hotel. It felt very official and secretive.

Turns out August is art judging month for me. From serving on the judging panel for the Plano Art Association’s 125 show to PPA juror training to the FW Camera Club, I’m a busy bee. I am SO looking forward to kicking it old school by reviewing physical prints. Long live printed media!

Mission accepted.

When my calendar is scheduled back-to-back every hour, I wonder if I like being busy (I do) or if my ambition to tackle projects and serve gets the better of me (they do).

Anyways, I’ve been happily busy keeping tabs on the many stages of my clients’ projects (which is exciting & beautiful) AND spending 32 hours in online training Monday through Thursday this week in the PPA juror workshop.

I’m excited to report I’m now an official Professional Photographers of America Juror-in-Training!

What does this mean? I now have a more thorough understanding of the PPA judging process. I also increased my skills in panel judging and delivering critiques to artists.

My goal was to educate myself, improve my process, and better help artists. I’m glad to say this workshop did just that. I also learned this is a multi-year process, and I won’t be a PPA-approved juror anytime soon.

Cheers to continuing education!

I couldn’t share the news until today … I was named one of the top three finalists for best portrait photographer in Frisco!

Thank you to the wonderful anonymous person who nominated me and to all the readers who voted for me. It was quite a surprise, and I didn’t even know I was in the running! It’s so wonderful to be recognized again by my community. I first received this honor in 2024.

Accolades are wonderful for the ego, but delivering beautiful portraits that make my clients feel seen and valued is the greatest joy of all.

Thank you again to all who voted. What a great start to the weekend!

Priceless

When getting all the people you love together in one photograph is almost impossible, that image means the world to you. This is the situation Mary had.

Mary had one image of the people she loved most on her phone, but she wanted to display it on her wall. How do you turn a little cell phone picture with a Christmas tree in the background into a portrait beautifully suited for the wall of your home?

Mary and I didn’t have the luxury of getting everyone into town for a professional portrait, but I recognized the importance of the image she did have. So I went to work.

The transformation from a simple cell phone image into a stunning hand-painted portrait is nothing short of amazing.

We are both delighted at how beautiful the finished piece turned out and how well it complements her home. Now Mary sees her loved ones’ faces every day, completing her family portrait gallery. And she cannot wait to surprise them with their new family portrait at the next holiday.

If you believe family is important and value beautiful art in your home, I can help you too. Scheduling a brief introductory call is the first step toward transforming your home with art that features those you love most.

🔔 Calling all students!

Garage Arts Project invites young artists from the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and adjoining areas to share original work across performance, literary, and visual art forms on September 13, 2026 at the Frisco Discovery Center Black Box Theatre.

🎨 Dance. Music. Poetry. Photography. Theatre. Mixed media. Experimental work.
If it’s honest, intentional, and created by you, we want to see it!

⭐️ We created this showcase because we believe young artists deserve spaces to create their own work, ask their own questions, and take creative risks. This is not about perfect work. It is about original ideas, perspective, curiosity, and voice. We are especially interested in work that feels personal, experimental, reflective, collaborative, or deeply human.

➡️ Applications are due today by 11:59 PM. Submit any prior work through the following application!

A wonderful client sent this to me a few months ago. She’s a dedicated mom to two amazing girls, and she and her husband have created such a loving family. She was so kind to honor my contribution to preserving her family's memories.

I do agree that photographers are memory keepers. But parents, especially moms, are the memory creators. From organizing all the kids’ activities to making Christmas magic to booking photographers who build those family albums on her behalf, moms have the vision to make it all come true.

I see you out there, Mom. You’re doing really good. You may not hear that too often. But you’re doing a great job.

The family helped me test out my new mini video cam this weekend. I learned that dynamic shots involve a lot more cardio on my part than I expected. These kids are World Cup ready.

The best part is that the former camera-shy kiddo is begging for more sports sizzle reels with T**i Olivia. Finally found my hook with that one.

Hats off to , Class of 2026! This young lady is beautiful inside & out, and I know she will thrive in her college career.

Be sure to hug your mom and dad tightly these next few months. It's not easy to watch your babies grow up and leave the nest - but we know you'll soar.

Congratulations to and all the seniors in the Class of 2026!

We are so proud of you and are wishing you the best in your next chapter. Keep chasing those big goals!

Oh, and when you walk tomorrow night we are all just suffering from allergies. Just allergies. Pass the tissues, please.
