NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY ❤️

First responders dedicate their lives to save lives. They are the people who run toward a crisis while the rest of the world flees. According to the Department of Homeland Security, 4.6 million career and volunteer first responders support the communities where they live. They are firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians (EMT), paramedics, and 911 operators. In an emergency, they're the first on the scene. These dedicated professionals answer the call when a crisis arises, often putting their own lives on the line.

TO OUR VERY OWN Marty Moore, thank you for the years of service you gave to the Council Bluffs Community! YOU ARE A TRUE HERO in our eyes❤️

IMPORTANT BUSINESS HISTORY:

October 26, 1825

The 363-mile Erie Canal officially opened, connecting the Hudson River to Lake Erie. The landmark engineering feat drastically slashed shipping costs and transit times between the eastern seaboard and the American interior, fueling rapid economic growth in New York State

October 26, 1861

Only two days after the Transcontinental Telegraph line opened, the Pony Express ceases operation. Prior to the opening of the cross-country telegraph line, the Pony Express was the fastest way to send communication between St. Joseph, Missouri and San Francisco, California.

These major breakthroughs in shipping and technology dramatically changed the way Americans lived and all these years later, we are still using them in our day-to-day lives!

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DAY
Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day is observed annually on the third Wednesday in October. The Chamber of Commerce's primary objective is strengthening local businesses of all sizes. The best way to honor this organization is to use the services of local chamber businesses.

We are so incredibly grateful to the Council Bluffs Chamber and their entire staff for the hard work, dedication and LOVE that they show our community! If you get a chance today stop by their office and THANK THEM 💚

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has been in existence since 1912. President William Howard Taft first brought the concept for an organization that would represent the concerns of U.S. businesses in an address before Congress in December of 1911.
