The fourth day of our Seattle-area adventures took us to Mount Rainier, with several stops along the way to take in the incredible landscape.

The area is truly majestic. From the moment you enter, you're surrounded by rivers of wild, silver water rushing through the forests. Higher elevations open up sweeping views across snow-covered peaks, turquoise lakes, and emerald-green forests. In the valleys and wetlands below, Mount Rainier seems to disappear and reappear through the clouds, revealing itself in pieces before disappearing again.

Wildlife and natural beauty were everywhere—elk wandering through the landscape, deer along the roads, wild berries tucked among the greenery, and flowers scattered throughout the mountainsides. Every turn seemed to offer another incredible view.

We ended the day with a spectacular red-sky sunset that seemed to guide us all the way back to our home for the week. 🌄🏔️

Here are some of the sights, landscapes, flora, and fauna we encountered as we traveled from Seattle to Anacortes, the San Juan Islands, and the surrounding communities.

None of these photographs truly do the area justice. The natural beauty, rustic charm of the small towns and farms, flowers seemingly everywhere you look, coastal landscapes, and wildlife each deserve the time to stop, take them in, and appreciate them.

This was one of those rare days where, from start to finish, you find yourself continually amazed by what’s around you. After all the miles, scenery, and adventure, you finish the day tired but not exhausted—with a mind at ease and a soul recharged.

I truly recommend that everyone experience this area in the summer at least once. The Pacific Northwest is something special. 🌲🌸🌊

Our second full day was spent exploring Seattle’s waterfront, with stops at the Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Great Wheel, Pier 58, and Waterfront Park.

The Seattle Aquarium offered an incredible look at the region’s marine life, from colorful fish and fascinating sea creatures to playful sea lions and curious sea otters. The low-tide pool provided an up-close look at the creatures that inhabit the Pacific Northwest’s coastal waters.

From there, we made our way along the waterfront, taking in the views from the Seattle Great Wheel and exploring the sights around Pier 58 and Waterfront Park. The combination of the city skyline, Elliott Bay, waterfront attractions, wildlife, and surrounding greenery made for plenty of great photography opportunities.

The day ended with a beautiful sunset stroll through the neighborhood, capturing flowers, birds, insects, and the quieter side of Seattle as the evening settled in.

All of these shots were captured with my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. 📱📸

These are some of my favorite shots from our first full day in Seattle during our most recent trip.

From taking in the incredible views of the city atop the Space Needle to the vibrant colors and reflections at Chihuly Garden and Glass, every stop offered something worth capturing. We wandered through the crowds at the Bite of Seattle festival, admired the flowers along the way, and wrapped up the day exploring the incredible Museum of Pop Culture.

Sometimes it's the big landmarks that leave an impression, and other times it's the little details you notice while walking from one place to the next. These are some of the moments that caught my eye throughout the day, all captured with my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

And with this, we come to my final post from Asheville.

These photos are just a small glimpse of the seemingly endless art, sculptures, murals, and creative spaces we discovered throughout the city, the surrounding mountains, and everywhere in between. Asheville isn't just a place that displays art—it's a place that lives it. From the murals on the walls to the galleries, handmade crafts, colorful storefronts, and even the vibrant styles and hair colors of the people who call it home, creativity seems to flow through every corner of the city.

As someone who loves art, it was inspiring to be surrounded by so much creative energy. It's the kind of place that encourages you to slow down, look a little closer, and maybe even create something of your own. Until next time, Asheville. Thank you for the memories.

Day 5 brought us to the North Carolina Arboretum before we said goodbye to Asheville, and it was the perfect way to end the trip.

Its vast gardens were in full bloom, with vibrant pops of color everywhere we looked. Bees buzzed from flower to flower, birds filled the air with song, squirrels darted through the trees, and everything was shaded beneath towering canopies that made the gardens feel peaceful and timeless. The bonsai collection was especially stunning—each tree a living work of art that deserved to be admired.

There's no question I'll be back. We only scratched the surface, and the Arboretum deserves an entire day of exploring on our next visit to Asheville.

Day 5 in Asheville meant it was finally time to say goodbye to our cabin. Before we packed up and headed home, I took a few moments to capture some of the little details that made this place feel so special.

The wildflowers, weathered wood, quiet corners, and lush greenery all came together to create a place that felt peaceful, timeless, and wonderfully alive. Sometimes it's the small things that leave the biggest impression. These are a few of those moments from our weeklong home in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Day 4 took us from Asheville to Gatlinburg, through Cherokee, and back to Asheville by way of Newfound Gap. If I ever had a second home, it would be somewhere in these mountains.

Along the way we found country music, moonshine, breathtaking views from the top of the world, and a herd of elk grazing peacefully in the valley below. There's a kind of magic in the Smokies that's hard to describe—a feeling that time moves a little slower, and that some places have remained wonderfully untouched. These ancient mountains have a way of quieting the mind and reminding you to simply enjoy the journey. Every photo in this post was captured on my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Day 3 wrapped up with a visit to the visitor center in Pisgah National Forest, where we had the pleasure of meeting Bob and his lovely wife. They shared stories about the area's rich history, its incredible natural wonders, and the first helicopter ever used to fight a forest fire in these very woods. Along the way, we were also lucky enough to spot a woodchuck, adding one more memorable wildlife sighting to an already amazing day.

From there, we spent the afternoon winding through the mountain roads, taking in the endless overlooks, cool mountain air, and peaceful blue hues that seem to stretch across the landscape. We closed out our last evening in Asheville with a little taste of the Prohibition era... followed by a whole lot of piano bar fun. These photos were all captured on my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

After the excitement of the zip lines, Day 3 in Asheville took us into the heart of Pisgah National Forest. Along the way, we stopped at a small hilltop cemetery with gravestones dating back to before the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Walking among them was a humbling reminder that the legacy of these mountains was shaped through hardship—war, scarlet fever, polio, and so many of the trials that defined early American life. From there, we continued on to Looking Glass Falls before making our way to Sliding Rock.

We spent a while at the base of Looking Glass Falls, sitting on a log beside the shallow river, taking in the cool air, the sound of the rushing water, and the peaceful stillness of the forest. I only wish these photos could capture what it actually felt like to be there. Sliding Rock was a completely different experience. I didn't take the plunge, but it was a lot of fun watching everyone else make the trip down. And I'll tell you this—the view from the top doesn't do it justice. From the bottom, that slide looks a whole lot steeper! These are a few of the moments I captured along the way with my Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.
