Simply Joyful Moments is a cozy renovated loft portrait studio specializing in custom maternity, newborn, and family portraiture. The space is comfortable, warm, and dedicated to offering everything a new little one needs, complete with a changing table with extra diapers and wipes. Fresh coffee and water are always available along with snacks for your kiddos. There is ample seating for the whole family to relax and watch the session as it takes place (there is even a place to nap if you're sleepy -- I've had four of my own newborn babies before and remember how tired you are those first few weeks, I won't judge! lol)

I am so honored to have photographed hundreds of newborns, and my goal is to make your session relaxing and enjoyable. As an experienced newborn photographer, labor and postpartum doula, and mother of four, I have years of experience, education, and training in newborn safety. I want you to feel confident that your baby is in the very best hands.

A brand new baby, a very proud big sister, and so much love. 🤍

One of my favorite things about newborn sessions is getting to capture the whole family, especially when there’s a big sibling involved! Between all the sweet snuggles, tiny baby details, and big sister’s little personality shining through, this session was just the sweetest.

So happy I got to capture this special season for this family! 🥹💕

Fall family portrait season is officially in full swing! 🍂🤍

And if you’ve ever worried about how your kids are going to behave during family pictures, I promise you can relax!

Some of my favorite moments happen when nobody is looking at the camera. When the kids are running around, siblings are being silly, Mom and Dad are laughing, and everyone is just enjoying being together.

I want to capture all the little things that make your family YOUR family.

My sessions are relaxed, fun, and full of genuine connection. I’ll guide you along the way, but there’s no pressure for your kids to sit perfectly still or smile on command.

So I’ve delivered a baby, can’t keep a succulent alive, and apparently I’m un-American because I hate peanut butter?? 😂

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself around here, so here are a few things you might not know about me!

1. My husband and I met on our ninth grade track team. We got married in 2002 and have four kids who are now 16, 17, 21, and 23. People are always surprised when they find out how old my kids are!

2. I actually caught a baby being born once! I was working as a doula and birth photographer at a home birth when baby decided not to wait for the midwife. She talked us through everything on speakerphone and arrived about 2 minute after he was born. Mom and baby were both doing great!

3. I absolutely hate peanut butter. Yes even Reeses. My husband says I’m un-American because of it. 😂

4. I cannot keep plants alive. Even my poor succulents are struggling, while my husband can grow just about anything.

5. My favorite way to relax is a long bubble bath with a good show on my laptop. I’ve even been known to bring a plate of snacks with me, no shame at all haha

6. I love traveling and family game nights. With our kids getting older, I appreciate those times when we’re all together even more! ❤️

7. I started my photography business from nothing 15 years ago, and I’m so proud of what it’s become. I’ve photographed over 500 newborns, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the little moments are often the ones we miss the most. The funny baby faces, tiny hands reaching up to be held, and those sweet gap-toothed smiles.

Whether you’ve been here for years or just recently found my page, I’m so glad you’re here!

Those tiny hands wrapped around Mom and Dad’s fingers 🥹🤍

One day, those little hands won’t be quite so little. They’ll reach for yours a little less often, and this season of life will feel like it went by in the blink of an eye.

This is why I love newborn photography so much. It’s not just about capturing how tiny your baby was. It’s also about remembering how it felt to hold them when they were this small.

A brand new baby, a very proud big brother, and a whole lot of love! 🤍

I absolutely loved having this sweet family in the studio! Between the quiet moments with Mom and Dad, big brother’s adorable personality, and those tiny newborn smiles, there were so many moments I couldn’t wait to share.

One thing I always tell parents is PLEASE don’t stress about bringing your toddler to your newborn session. I promise, I’ve seen it all! 😂

After 15 years of photographing newborns and more than 500 babies welcomed into my studio, I’ve learned that some of the sweetest moments happen when we just let kids be kids.

And my experience with babies actually started long before I became a photographer. As a former birth and postpartum doula and a mom of four myself, I know just how beautiful, exhausting, and overwhelming those first few weeks can be. Especially when you’re adjusting to life with more than one little one!

That’s exactly why I’ve created a newborn experience where you don’t have to worry about a thing.

We take our time, follow baby’s lead, and leave plenty of room for feeding, diaper changes, toddler snack breaks, and whatever else your family needs. There’s no rushing, no pressure for your baby to sleep the entire time, and definitely no expectation that your toddler will sit perfectly still and smile on command.

With wardrobe for the entire family and professional hair and makeup for Mom included, you don’t have to spend those last few weeks of pregnancy stressing over what everyone will wear either.

I want you to come in, relax, love on your babies, and let me take care of the rest.

Because these portraits aren’t just about remembering how tiny your newborn was. They’re about remembering your family exactly as you were during this little chapter of life.

The weather is finally cooling down, which means one of my favorite portrait seasons is officially here! 🍁🍂

Fall family sessions are filling up and I only have a handful of outdoor dates remaining for the season!

Over a decade ago, I started a little business called Simply Joyful Moments.

At the time, I was working as both a photographer and a birth doula, and the name reflected the seasons of life I was documenting most often: pregnancy, birth, and babies.
What began as a creative outlet while raising four young children and navigating military life slowly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.
