People see a $400 photoshoot and assume photographers are pocketing $400 in profit… but I promise that’s far from reality 🥹

What most people don’t see is everything happening behind the scenes to keep a photography business running.

That session fee doesn’t just go straight into my pocket. It helps cover:
✨ taxes
✨ website + gallery delivery fees
✨ editing software
✨ SD cards + hard drives
✨ cameras + lenses
✨ props + studio setups
✨ gas/travel
✨ insurance
✨ advertising
✨ education + learning new skills
✨ equipment maintenance/upgrades

And honestly, one of the biggest investments is time.

The session itself is only a small part of the job. There are hours spent planning, communicating with clients, culling galleries, hand editing images, delivering galleries, bookkeeping, answering emails/messages, ordering props, cleaning the studio… and so much more that people never really see.

Photography is so much more than “just taking pictures.” It’s a business, a creative service, and truly a labor of love. 🤍

I completely understand that professional photography isn’t in everyone’s budget, and that’s okay! But I’ll always be so thankful for the clients who trust me, support my business, and value the time, work, and heart that goes into creating these memories!

Located in Columbus, Georgia, our studio was designed with photographers, creatives, and small business owners in mind — a warm, intentional space to create, host sessions, and bring ideas to life.

From motherhood and newborn sessions to branding shoots, content creation, and creative projects, Rosewood Studio is a place where meaningful moments and beautiful stories are captured every day.
