I’m back baby! My first official wedding of the season after having my sweet Emmie boy and it was SO. MUCH. FUN. I just feel so lucky to have a job that allows me to soak up baby cuddles one day and then have a day like this with people like this the next. Alyssa and I had been talking about their wedding day for what feels like forever and it was so surreal to get to finally meet them and celebrate with them and all of their people!! She put so much work in putting this day together and it was so special to capture it all!

Lemonade, late bedtimes, no shoes, sun beams in the kitchen. 🍋

When I think about my childhood, I immediately go back to summer nights and the magic of being a kid in June.

Dinner’s over but there’s still sunlight — we play until it’s dark, maybe even later. The cul-de-sac is full of girls on bikes, hands sticky from popsicles. We play wall ball against the stucco and hide and seek in everyone’s yards. We pile onto the old metal playground. We take family walks while the sun sets.

We fall asleep to crickets and wake up to robins, to do it all over again.

We only have a handful of childhood summers that we will actually remember, and still those long nights make up so many of my core memories.

This family session is so dear to me for that reason! I got to capture this sweet, short season for a family to look back on for years to come and remember these warm, long, simple evenings together.☀️🍉

What I’ve been doing this slow season! ❤️ It’s almost been four months with sweet Emmet and he’s the most peaceful guy I know. He loves to laugh and observe and make fun sounds and just be part of Morris’s crazy world. I can’t believe I get to be a mom to these two perfect boys and that I get to do it alongside my best friend!

When I say joining is the travel hack of the century, I mean it! Not only is it the most affordable way to travel, but we’ve been able to stay in the most unique homes!

Last month we traveled to California for one of my best friend’s weddings and decided to take a stab at traveling as a family of four for the first time. As I was planning our trip I was imagining all four of us staying in a cramped, generic hotel room! 😅 And then I found the dreamiest HomeExchange — a houseboat just outside of San Francisco!

Not only did we not have to share a room, but we were literally sleeping on a boat (talk about toddler heaven!). We were walking distance to cute coffee shops and restaurants, had access to the hosts’ kayaks and bikes, and got to sip wine overlooking one of the country’s most unique neighborhoods. 🤩

We’ve been in nesting mode for the last month or so as we prep for the arrival of our little guy — hence no posting! — and now I’m just twiddling my thumbs, waiting for him to make his appearance!

So here’s a post of this cute fam since they were twiddling their thumbs this time last year waiting for this sweet boy to come earth side! We caught the tail end of fall for their family session this year and I loveeeee how these turned out!

This is so much more than a job to me — it’s thousands and thousands of moments I’m able to freeze in time, it’s the gift of getting to be present and notice what makes each of my clients and their stories beautiful, it’s generations who will look back on my photos to experience those who came before them.
