Sally + Austin 💍🤍

Now that I’ve finally shared my own engagement, I think it’s about time I start sharing some of the killer sessions I’ve unintentionally been keeping to myself—and I’m kicking it off with these two because they gave this session EVERYTHING.

We started at one of my new favorite open spaces in Larkspur, chasing the sun and getting those big, cinematic “tiny people / massive Colorado mountains” photos. And yes… there are PLENTY more of those coming. 😮‍💨

Then we headed down the road to Palmer Lake for the “lady of the lake” photos Sally had been envisioning. What I didn’t expect was for it to quickly turn into the perfect mix of awkward and fun 😂 They were down for every random idea I threw at them, then somehow came up with a few of their own that made it even better.

Honestly, I’m already low-key trying to convince them to do a summer golden-hour round two before they get married next fall because the water + these two = way too good to only do once.

Sally and Austin, thank you for trusting me and fully leaning into every part of this session with me. You two made it SO much fun, and I cannot wait for your wedding day 🤍

Wellllll… there’s a reason I’ve been so quiet on here since Friday. 🤭🥹💍

WE LEFT AS BOYFRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND AND CAME HOME AS FIANCÉS!!!!! 🥹❤️

I know I hardly ever post selfies as a grid post, but this one was a little too special not to. And keeping this a secret aside from our families and a few close friends since Friday?! A challenge to say the least hahaha.

Seriously the BEST start to a weekend with the man of my dreams. The man I prayed for and wasn’t even sure was out there. The second chance at marriage I didn’t know if God had in store for me. 🥹❤️

Now for the story…

We headed to the Breckenridge area for two engagement sessions at two of my favorite Colorado locations. I was SO excited to finally show him these spots!

Friday afternoon, Colorado decided to throw some snow, rain, and wind our way, so we moved the first session to Saturday morning. 😂

After an incredible session Saturday, I wanted to show him my other favorite spot. Little did I know he was about to make that place even MORE special.

He led me over to one of my favorite areas and before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. 🥹💍❤️

And y’all… I GET TO MARRY THIS MAN!!!!

The best part?! I had another engagement session scheduled at that exact same location later that day. So just hours after getting engaged myself, I was back photographing another couple’s love story where mine had just entered a whole new chapter. 🥹

We soaked up the mountain air, probably got a little too lightheaded from the elevation, ate too indian food and some cinnamon rolls, and made some of the sweetest memories together 🥰

There was a time I genuinely didn’t know if I’d ever get the chance to be a wife again. But God knew what I couldn’t see, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the man He brought into my life. ❤️

So here’s to forever with my best friend!!!!

And to all my 2027 brides… looks like I’m officially joining y’all in the wedding planning craziness now. 🤭🥰💍🤍

Vestrahorn, Iceland… one of those places that genuinely feels like it belongs on another planet. 🏔️🖤

Tucked away on Iceland’s southeastern coast near Stokksnes, Vestrahorn is easily one of the most breathtaking locations I’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph. Between the dramatic mountain peaks, endless black sand dunes, and those moody Icelandic skies… HOW is this place even real?!

But y’all… THE WIND. 😂

I don’t think any of us were prepared for just how insane the wind would be that day. Sand was flying EVERYWHERE, and I’m pretty sure we all left with dirt on our faces and sand in places it definitely didn’t belong. HAHAHA.

But this couple?! Absolute CHAMPS. 🥹🤍

Having their photos taken at Vestrahorn was high on their Iceland bucket list, and they embraced every second of the craziness. And honestly, that’s what I love so much about adventurous couples sessions in Iceland. Sometimes the unpredictable weather makes the memories (and photos) that much more incredible.

The dramatic mountains, black sand, wild wind, and two people completely in love… it doesn’t get much better than that.

Would I photograph another Iceland couples session or elopement at Vestrahorn?

IN. A. HEARTBEAT. Even if it means eating another mouthful of Icelandic sand. 😂

A little throw back down memory lane to last November in ICELAND

I had NO idea how much these photos would mean just a few months later. 🥹🖤

Back in November 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to photograph the iconic Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach in Iceland while attending an elopement photography retreat by Photography Content Retreats | Business Coach | Esther Truus

And y’all… this place was something straight out of a DREAM. The black sand, massive basalt columns, crashing waves, and just the overall beauty of Iceland. I was absolutely speechless.

And to make this experience even sweeter, I FINALLY got to meet Cassidy Lynne in person AND photograph her and her husband at one of the most iconic locations in Iceland!! Like WHAT?! 🥹

Fast forward just THREE months to February 2026, when powerful winter storms and coastal erosion dramatically changed parts of this breathtaking beach.

To think I was standing there with my camera just months before everything changed… WOW.

If there’s one thing this has reminded me, it’s that we never truly know how much a photograph might mean years, months, or even weeks down the road.

I’m beyond thankful God opened this door for me to experience Iceland, meet some incredible people, and capture this beautiful place the way it was in November 2025. 🤍

And man oh man, am I grateful I get to call this my JOB.

Okayyy… possibly the most western shoot I’ll ever get to photograph 🤠🤍

Bailey knew she wanted a western-inspired baby announcement with her sweet family, and I was determined to find a location that truly felt like her. I went back and forth between a few spots, but the second I sent her photos of this one, we knew—it was the one.

Then we showed up for their session and found cows casually hanging out in the background. Tell me that wasn’t the sweetest little God hug. 🥹 We truly could not have planned it any better.

I may or may not have learned that day that cows are scared of people 😂

I went back to this exact spot the very next day for headshots, and the cows were gone… so clearly they showed up just for Bailey + D**o’s big announcement 😂

Getting to document milestones like this—with the people you love, your sweet babies, golden light, and another little one on the way—will never stop being such an honor.

Most of my couples start our conversation with some version of, “We’re awkward in photos.” And honestly? That is one of my favorite things to hear, because you do *not* have to show up already knowing how to pose. 🤍

Your Colorado engagement session should feel more like a fun little date night than a photoshoot you’re nervous about. We’ll pick a location that feels like you two, figure out the best light, talk outfits if you need help, and then I’ll guide you through it all.

You’ll still get the classic, “okay this is going on the save-the-date” photos. But I want you to have the laughing, running around, quiet little in-between moments too—the stuff that feels like your actual relationship.

No weird stiff posing. No pressure to perform for the camera. Just you two being yourselves and me making sure it looks dang good.
