Hi everyone! I don’t believe in mixing personal with business, but I felt compelled to let my clients and followers a recent loss in my life. Some of you have met my little 3 pound Chorkie, Dixxy. After almost a year, following her diagnosis last September of stage two renal failure, we had to say goodbye last Monday. She was my Soul Dog and the void left in my life, I cannot describe. It has been a whirlwind of emotions this last week. I had decided then that after Dixxy crosses over the Rainbow Bridge, that I wanted to help senior, or special needs, dogs in her honor. You see, without human intervention, Dixxy, and her two brothers, would have perished.
What I wasn’t prepared for, is God stepping in to make this happen. A long story,short…my friend and fellow animal lover, Lacey Paulley, contacted me about a tiny, 1 lb., 2-month-old, PomChi mix and his very rough start in life. After speaking with Lacey, I had to process through a lot of feelings, but it became clear, very quickly what was meant to be.
After Gordon and I had a very short conversation, we both agreed that this little boy needed us. So Maxx is here at home with us and he is such a happy, rambunctious, sassy little guy. He has no idea just how sick he is and is enjoying life with us to the absolute fullest.
Lacey and I started this fundraiser on GoFundMe. It would mean a lot to us if you could donate or share with others. Any kind of help makes a difference and gets us closer to the goal of diagnosing Maxx to see what, if anything, can be done to help him. A sedated echocardiogram is the only way forward. AERC in Oakdale was recommended and will be the provider of the EchoCardiogtam.
