Becoming a big brother is a pretty special kind of magic. 🩵 One day, you’re the little one getting all the cuddles, and the next, you’re meeting your baby brother for the very first time.

Watching this sweet big brother lean in for kisses, peek into the crib, and soak up all the excitement of having a new baby in the family was the sweetest thing. These are the moments I love documenting during in-home newborn sessions. Most of my favorite photos from my sessions don’t have families looking at the camera and smiling.

Usually it’s a little boy stopping to pick a flower. A big sister giving Mom a kiss. Dad spinning his son around until everyone is laughing. A family squeezing together for one photo—and then immediately going back to being themselves.

That’s what I love about family photography: the posed photos matter, but the in-between moments are often the ones that tell the story.

This Cleveland family session was full of wildflowers, movement, cuddles, and a very sweet anticipation of baby #3. 🌼💙
