Friends! My "hobby" has officially grown into a full-on second job. 🎸 I’m incredibly grateful for all the invites to shoot local bands—making you look badass on stage is my absolute favorite thing.🤘🤘
That said, between gear upkeep, software subscriptions, and keeping my two classic vehicles running, it’s a beautifully expensive craft to maintain!

The final act (I hate this entire series has to come to an end lol) was the dark melodic/alternative metal band Reign of Z. They were absolute phenoms! The lead singer can growl, howl, and scream with the best of them. Her voice defies gender and is truly, pure magic. I spoke to her after her performance, and she told me it's a true lifestyle; she has a vocal coach, works out, abstains from smoking, drinking, et al. Her dedication to her craft explains why she has made it to where she is, today. Similarly, she had the most kick ass drummer, and it was made all the more powerful because SHE (see what I did there?! 😆🤘) was a part of this crucial and important show. This entire event, and the ongoing exhibit in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame shines a much deserved light on musicians who can swing their proverbial 🍆 just as well, (if not even better), than those carrying the equipment. Please, check it out if you get a chance, it's an awesome showcase of some of the most powerful ladies in the music industry, who deserve you to Know Their Names. 🤘🖤🤘

The 3rd act from Friday's "Women in Metal: You Will Know My Name" show honoring the Rock Hall's newest exhibit, was the powerhouse, Maxilla. This gal kicked it and took names, and it was incredibly heartwarming to see her idol, Lzzy Hale, aptly watching her performance. Maxilla rocked the joint, and had the crowd amped up when she performed fan fave, "My Creatures." I didn't know you, before this, Maxi, but I definitely Know Your Name, now. You're talented, young friend, massively talented, and the sheer joy this opportunity brought to you and all the performers makes this one of the best and most poignant show's I've ever had the honor of 📸. Thank you, for the most stellar set, and such a genuinely beautiful evening. 🤘❤️🤘

The 2nd band to showcase the Rock Hall's "Women in Metal: You Will Know My Name," was the heavy hitting, melodic hard rock from the insanely talented PA outfit, Storms Within. Erica Lynn is a porcelain doll-faced woman with the voice of a surging thunderstorm. The sounds that come out of her are brutally beautiful, and her 5 piece band, instrumentally, add the heavy harmonies which takes her voice, and elevates it to the transcendence territories. They are beyond amazing, and were a perfect choice to follow Lzzy Hale's soul searing acoustic set. (Not to mention the guitar player's guitar is decked out with a decal of Michael Myers, which was wicked...😆🤘🎃). It was equally powerful to glance over and see Lzzy and Joe mingling with the crowd, and watching the other bands perform. As musicians, all three of the bands from this lineup lived a bucket list moment, and it was beautiful to watch them all bask in their well earned glory. If you have a chance, and have not seen them yet, Storms Within is a MUST! Thank you, Erica Lynn, again, for allowing me to shoot this. It was seriously the best evening, spent with a plethora of incredibly talented, happy, and beautiful people.

Yesterday was nothing short of a dream; The Rock Hall opened it's new exhibit, "Women In Metal: You Will Know My Name" and Lzzy Hale from Halestorm, along with her guitarist, Joe Hottinger, performed an acoustic set before three other female led, powerhouse metal bands took the stage. It was such an incredible experience, made even more so after seeing people so moved by her performance, and from meeting her, they openly cried. It was definitely the biggest thing I've done since I've started doing band photography, and I am so grateful to my wonderful friend, James Fedor, for getting me a media pass. I am going to be riding this high for a minute, and there are three more sets coming from the other bands, all of whom kicked total ass, and were the perfect accompaniment to perform with Lzzy, to kick off this stellar and crucial exhibit to highlight women's roles in the metal scene. Girls RULE!!
