Yeah… I think film is staying. 🎞️

I’ve been shooting more and more 35mm alongside digital lately, but getting these rolls back really sealed it for me.

There’s something about having 36 frames and no screen to check that changes the way I shoot. I slow down. I pay attention. I choose the moments I actually want to use a frame on.

And then you get them back.

The ridiculous ones. The quiet ones. The ones you almost forgot you took. The perfectly imperfect ones you couldn’t recreate if you tried.

And somehow they don’t just look like photographs from a wedding. They already feel like memories someone pulled out of a box twenty years later.

That’s what I love about film.

I’ll always love everything my digital cameras let me create, but film brings something completely different to a wedding day…the color, the texture, the unpredictability, and that little bit of magic in not knowing exactly what you’ve got until the scans come back.

And getting to photograph a wedding on both?

Yeah. I think I’ve found my sweet spot. 🤍🎞️

If I could bottle the feeling of this wedding, I would. 🤍

Photographing one of my best friend’s wedding was always going to be special…

But somehow it was even better than I imagined.

200+ of the best people. So much love. So much laughter. Hugs that lasted a little longer. Dance floor chaos. The kind of day you never want to end……and apparently neither did we, seeing as Kevin and I were the last ones to leave. 😂

And then, to finish the night…

Meagan’s dad John and his lifelong best friend Dan surprised everyone by building a Burning Man-inspired effigy. Watching everyone gather around as it lit up the night was one of those moments I’ll never forget.

Meagan & Gabe, thank you for letting me stand beside you as both a friend and your photographer. It was an absolute privilege to capture one of the best days of your lives, and one I’ll treasure forever.

Love you both. 🤍

PS. Huge shout out to Kevin Mcmahon Olivia Austin | Brand & Business Consultant and Cait Morgs who I kept randomly handing cameras to throughout the day with absolutely no instructions other than “just shoot whatever you see.” 😂 Can’t wait to get those developed and relive the day through all of your eyes too. 🤍

The kind of place that reminds you why destination weddings don’t have to involve getting on a plane.

The Scottish coast absolutely showed off for Abbie & Scott, and between the cliffs, wildflowers and evening light… it was pretty magical.

One small act of kindness turned into one of my favourite memories I’ve ever photographed. 🤍

The day before, we met while hiking in the Dolomites. They took a Polaroid of my friend and me, so I offered to send them a few photos in return. (That’s the last photo in this carousel.)

Later that evening, a message popped up asking for the photos. One thing led to another, and we decided to meet at Lago di Sorapis the next morning so I could take a few more photos before I flew home.

Somewhere between wandering around the lake and laughing through photos, Rareș quietly flashed me the ring box while Luiza wasn’t looking.

Cue instant panic. 😂

That’s when I realised… this wasn’t just a couple’s shoot anymore.

A few minutes later, she said yes. 🤍

Afterwards, Rareș told me he’d actually planned to propose the day before at Tre Cime, but a storm had completely changed his plans.

Funny how one storm, one Polaroid, and one message can change a story completely.

Congratulations, Rareș & Luiza!
