Honest Amber is back!
I've had some of the best conversations with my clients, and I truly consider you all my friends. So, if things have felt a little quiet around here—or if you’ve noticed me stepping back over the last few years—I wanted to open up and tell you why.
Since 2022, life behind the scenes has been a heavy climb. My family has been navigating a lot of major personal shifts all at once. As many of you already know, my husband has bipolar disorder, and supporting him as he worked toward stability was a long, bumpy road. He has fought hard to find that balance, though maintaining it is still an ongoing daily effort. Once he reached a steadier place, I finally had the space to turn inward—because I felt like I was completely losing myself.
After diving into therapy and completing diagnostic testing, I received a late-in-life diagnoses of Level 1 Autism, ADHD, and—to top it off—perimenopause! Getting these answers to lifelong questions was life-changing, but it also fundamentally shifted my relationships and my perspective. Ultimately, I had to make the painful but necessary choice to step away from toxic family to protect the stability and peace we worked so hard to build. That alone brought on a period of grief I never could have predicted.
All of this to say- carrying it all took a real toll on my energy and creative capacity, and truth be told, my business took a major hit. Between personal burnout, the rise of AI impacting all of the creative industries, add in the pressures of skyrocketing living expenses and expensive groceries, staying afloat has been a fight—to the point where I am currently at risk of losing my studio within the next few months if things don't turnaround.
The good news is that the hardest part of the storm is behind us. We are finding our footing, healing, and learning to thrive in our new normal. My spark and passion for this work are returning, and I’m ready to rebuild. I have some exciting things in the works for you:
