Over the last couple of years, I have been primarily working with previous clients - lovingly referred to as my "Legacy" clients, or personal referrals. A few weeks ago, I received an email from this lady and agreed to work with her, and WOW was it a treat! I drove to her home to take a few headshots, but by the time I left, I had been to CHURCH. You never know when you will meet someone that you connect deeply with through shared experiences, but we sure had them. After we finished her headshot session, we spent about an hour or so in her Prayer Room talking, and she and her daughter prayed over me before I left.

Experiences like these are why I love taking photographs. It's rarely about the pointing and shooting. Many times it's about seeing, connecting, learning, and healing.

I asked her to share a little about herself, and this is what she said:
"My name is Beverly De'Journett. I am a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. I moved to Clayton several years ago from South Carolina, originally from Ohio.

I recently started a non-profit: Beverly De'Journett Ministry.
The ministry is new and barely off the ground.
Our chief purpose is to reach women of all ages: Women who have been abused, those who feel lost without direction, and those who feel hopeless.

Hope is something we all need, especially during tough times. Jesus is our greatest source of hope. Knowing that Jesus is our hope reminds us that we are never alone in our struggles. His unwavering love and sacrifice provide us with the assurance that brighter days are ahead, even when we may be surrounded by darkness.

Recently, we gave out 100 book bags filled with school supplies. Scripture tells us: "Do not despise this small beginning." With the help of the Lord, the ministry will grow and be a blessing to many.

As promised, to continue the series of beautifuI people I've had the privilege to photograph, I would like to introduce you to Brenda!

Brenda is an artist, a painter, living in the Raleigh-Durham area. I was first enchanted by her lovely watercolor paintings, and now have a small collection of her acrylic paintings as well - all birds! 🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦

Brenda paints all kinds of things - landscapes, animals, sea creatures, still lifes and more on wood and canvas. She uses strong lines and vibrant colors to attract the eye and I bet you could find a nook, a cranny or a large wall space to call one of her paintings home!

Have you ever seen a custom-painted bottle of champagne? She paints those too! Sometimes the occasion calls for a one-of-a-kind gift, and she has them!

Hello friends and valued clients!

In 2023, I shared with you that I was taking a brief break from my photography and branding business to pursue my Series 77 and Series 63 licensing after being hired at a large financial firm.

After becoming licensed, I resumed business on a limited basis, working only with legacy clients and referrals from trusted friends and clients, and I have completely neglected this page as well as other socials.

It's time to fix that and start showing you some of the beautiful people I've had the absolute pleasure of working with.

I am still only taking headshot and branding clients on a very limited basis, but changes are coming that I can't wait to share with you!

Your headshot experience includes an initial phone consultation, a headshot guide, your headshot session in studio, in your home, or on location, and a private proofing gallery of the best images from your session. Once you choose your favorites, they are edited by hand and provided to you via email.

If you are self-employed, whether you provide a product or service, images sell! You sell what you show.

Never (ever!) use images from the internet that may be subject to copyright. There are websites that offer free images, free trials, or subscriptions to find images for you to use, but they are generic and may not convey *your* personality or brand the way you really want to.
