My senior sessions are all about capturing who they are right now — their personality, their style, their confidence, and all those little things you never want to forget. 🤍

Finishing up this sweet girl’s gallery before sending it off, and I keep finding myself lingering over these images. 🤍

There’s just something about senior portraits that will always have my heart.

Maybe it’s because senior year is one of those beautiful, bittersweet seasons that feels like it lasts forever while you’re in it… and then somehow, it’s gone in a blink.

This version of them only exists right now.

The almost-grown version.
The one standing somewhere between childhood and everything that comes next.
The one who still lives under your roof, leaves their things everywhere, eats all your food, and drives you a little crazy… but is also getting ready to spread their wings and build a life of their own.

You only get this season with them once.

And years from now, these photographs won’t just be pictures from senior year. They’ll be a way back.

Back to their smile. Their personality. Their confidence. Their style. The way they looked at 17 or 18, when their whole life was still waiting in front of them.

That’s why senior portraiture is one of my absolute favorite things to create.

I don’t want to simply take a few pretty pictures of your senior. I want to create something that feels like them — beautiful, intentional portraiture that becomes part of your family’s story and only grows more priceless with time.

Because one day, you’ll look at these images and wonder how this season went by so quickly. 🤍

✨ SENIOR SNEAK PEEK | AUDREY | CLASS OF 2027 ✨

Ohhh Audrey. 🥹💗 This sweet girl was an absolute DREAM to photograph.

Audrey is the cutest little cheerleader, with one of those personalities that is just as beautiful as she is. From the moment we started her session, she was so incredibly sweet, genuine, and easy to be around. We laughed, explored, and made our way through the woods and fields, chasing that gorgeous golden light along the way. 🌾✨

And then… we ended the night at the beach with the prettiest cotton candy sunset. 🌅🩷🩵 Seriously, the kind of sky you just hope for when planning a summer senior session!

But as beautiful as the evening was, what stood out most to me was Audrey herself. There is something so special about meeting a senior who is truly kind, genuine, and just has such a sweet presence about her. She made my job incredibly easy, and it was genuinely such a pleasure getting to capture this season of her life.

Audrey, I hope your senior year is filled with amazing memories, lots of laughter, big dreams, and everything you hope it will be. 💗

And trust me… this is only the sneak peek. 😍 I have SO much more from this gorgeous session that I cannot wait to share!

✨ WHY DO SENIOR PORTRAITS TAKE 2–3 WEEKS? ✨

Here’s a little peek at what happens after your senior session… 👀💻

If you’ve ever wondered why I tell my senior clients to expect about 2–3 weeks for their finished gallery, this video pretty much sums it up. 😂

Your photographer is… how should I put this?

Extremely meticulous. 😅

There are things I will notice while editing that 99% of people would probably NEVER see.

A tiny distraction in the background? Gone.
A stray hair that’s driving me crazy? Fixed.
Something slightly off with the lighting, color, skin tones, composition, or crop? I’m fixing it.

Could I leave it because nobody else would notice?

Probably.

Will I?

Absolutely not. 😂

Because once I see it, it has to be fixed.

One of the biggest misconceptions about professional photography is that we simply show up, take some beautiful pictures, upload them, crop them and send them off.

Ohhhh no. 😂

For me, there are roughly 9 HOURS of editing for every ONE HOUR I spend shooting.

So if you chose my Full Senior Experience, with two locations, multiple outfits and a full enhanced gallery, you’re looking at at least 18 hours of editing after your session is over. 🤯

And that’s just the editing.

That doesn’t include planning your session, helping with locations and outfits, traveling, backing up your images, sorting through hundreds of photographs, choosing the strongest images and preparing your final gallery.

Your session may only last a couple of hours…

…but your portraits become my project for DAYS afterward. ❤️

And I genuinely love that part of it.

Senior portraits are documenting such a tiny, once-in-a-lifetime window between childhood and whatever comes next. These are photographs you’ll look back on years from now. Your parents will keep them. Someday your own kids may see them.

So yes… I’m going to zoom in way too far.

I’m going to obsess over details nobody else notices.

And I’m probably going to spend an embarrassing amount of time fixing something you never would have known was there. 😂

Because you aren’t just paying me to take your pictures.

You’re trusting me to create the finished portraits.

And I want every single one to feel worthy of that. ❤️📸

✨ SENIOR SNEAK PEEK ✨

This senior has a very special place in my heart. 💗

There’s something extra meaningful about photographing a girl you already know is beautiful—not just because of what you see through the camera, but because of who she is.

She is truly one of the sweetest souls… so full of life, love, beauty, and that kind of light that just naturally draws people in. And getting to capture her during such an exciting chapter of her life made this session that much more special.

Senior year goes by unbelievably fast. One minute you’re stepping into it, and before you know it, you’re walking across that stage and heading toward whatever comes next. That’s one of the reasons I love senior portraits so much—they freeze this tiny little moment between who they’ve been and who they’re becoming. 🥹

I hope she has the most AMAZING senior year. I hope she laughs too much, makes memories she’ll talk about forever, takes chances, dreams ridiculously big, and soaks up every single second.

Because I have a feeling this girl is going to do some pretty incredible things. 💗

✨ SWEET CAROLYN | CLASS OF 2027 ✨

Some sessions are beautiful… and then some feel a little bit like magic. 💗

Sweet Carolyn gave me one of those nights.

We laughed, we wandered, we played with the light, and just when we thought the evening couldn’t get any prettier, the sky decided to show off for us. ☁️🌅✨ The softest cotton candy sunset rolled in behind her, painting everything in pinks and pastels, and suddenly we weren’t just taking senior pictures anymore… we were capturing one of those fleeting summer nights you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

And THIS is exactly why I will forever be obsessed with golden-hour sessions.

There’s something about that last little bit of sunlight—the warm glow, the softer colors, the way everything slows down as the sun starts to disappear. Add in a gorgeous senior who is sweet, fun, and completely herself, and you get this. 🥹

Carolyn, you were an absolute dream to photograph, and I had SO much fun creating these with you. Your senior year is just beginning, and if this sunset was any indication, I’d say there are some pretty beautiful things ahead. 💕

Another Class of 2027 sneak peek… and another senior who completely reminded me why I love doing this so much. 🤍

Meet Libby, a senior and cheerleader at Clawson High School! 📣

I’ve photographed several seniors this week, and one thing I keep thinking about is how incredibly unique they all are. Different personalities, different styles, different dreams… but every single one has been so genuinely kind, smart, and just lovely to spend time with.

And with Libby, there was one little moment at the very end of her session that really stuck with me.

I usually ask the parents if they’d like to jump in for a quick picture with their senior. They don’t have to post it anywhere — I just think someday, that photograph might mean more than they realize.

But before I could even ask, Libby asked. 🥹

“Can I get a picture with my parents?”

My heart MELTED.

I immediately told her how sweet I thought it was that she was the one who wanted that picture, and her dad simply said, “We are very lucky.”

And you could tell they know it. But you could also tell Libby knows how lucky she is, too.

There was just something about that little moment that said so much about this girl and the family values she carries with her. And honestly, those are the moments I love capturing just as much as the beautiful senior portraits.

Libby, you are absolutely gorgeous, but even more importantly, you were such a joy to photograph. I cannot wait for you to see the rest. 🤍

Another extremely difficult sneak peek to narrow down… because HOW am I supposed to pick favorites from this girl’s session?! 😍

When I tell you she is every bit as fun as these photos look, I am not kidding. Her personality just shines, and can we please take a second to appreciate her STYLE?! 🔥 Just wait… in some upcoming portraits, you’ll even get to see a few of her very own creations.

Looking at her, you’d probably assume she was headed straight to New York to take on the fashion world. But nope… this incredibly creative girl is planning to go into chemical science & engineering. 🧪✨ Beauty, creativity, brains AND a killer sense of style? Okay then. 😂

That’s something I genuinely love about photographing this generation. So many of these seniors seem to know exactly who they are and where they want to go, while still giving themselves permission to be creative, different and completely their own person.

And THAT is exactly what I want senior portraits to capture. Not just what you looked like your senior year… but who you were becoming. 💗
