There is a common belief that if you want a wedding that feels like it belongs in Italy, France, or the English countryside, you have to get married there.
But what if the magic isn’t found in the destination at all?
What if it’s found in choosing a place that already carries the feeling you’re searching for.
The stone walls. The gardens. The architecture. The way guests linger over dinner long after the sun goes down.
A destination wedding has never been about the passport stamp. It’s about creating an experience that transports the people you love.
For the bride who dreams of Europe but wants her grandmother there.
For the couple who values presence over logistics.
For those who want beauty, history, and romance without asking everyone to cross an ocean.
Having this day featured in is a dream come true. I’m incredibly grateful to the creative team who brought this vision to life and to Green Wedding Shoes for giving it a place to be seen and celebrated.
Because sometimes the most meaningful destination is the one that brings everyone together.

This is an appreciation post for the community that chooses collaboration over competition.

Since moving to the East Coast, my business has taken off, and I get asked often what I did differently.

The answer is simple. I stayed true to who I am.

At my core, I love human connection. I love friendship. I love doing life in community.

The wedding industry has become a source of support I never knew existed, but something I deeply needed. Through it, I’ve found encouragement, genuine friendships, and gracious people who have offered a hand up so that one day I can do the same for someone else.

If you had told the Midwest wedding photographer with big dreams that she would be sitting in Central Park surrounded by beauty and community with , I probably would have laughed. Not because of Central Park. I grew up coming here after church on Sundays.

The community part is what would have surprised me.

Somewhere along the way, God answered prayers I didn’t even know how to put into words. He brought people into my life at exactly the right moments and reminded me that we were never meant to do this alone.

It has given me friendship, belonging, and support in seasons where I needed it most. The community? It gives me breath.

If our paths have crossed on this journey, please know I count it as a joy. I’m grateful for every conversation, every shared table, every recommendation, and every friendship that has come from it.

Film photos in D.C.

The grain, the softness, the way these photographs feel like they belong to another time.

Growing up, I remember seeing photographs of this city filled with presidents, monuments, and moments that shaped history. Now when I walk these same streets with a camera in my hands, the subject has changed.

Instead of historical figures, it’s people in love that I grow to care so much for.

A little appreciation for , who spent the afternoon helping carry gear, keeping me laughing in the rain, and taking a few frames when I handed him my film camera in a downpour. There aren’t many photos of me on film since I’m usually the one behind the camera, so those frames are ones I’ll always be grateful for.

A manor house at golden hour with the gardens entirely to ourselves.
Megan + Matthew spent the evening running through it with me while the sun was doing entirely too much for us.
There was a moment where I fully stopped shooting just to watch them for a second before picking my camera back up.
Counting down to August.

As someone who will always be a classic lover at heart, my take on these trending veil concepts might surprise you.

I love film. I love old things. I love the kind of beauty that outlives trends.

What pulls me into these veil concepts isn’t trend. It’s artistry.

The creativity. The unexpectedness. The fact that these feel like expression, not imitation.

And I think that’s timeless too.

What I don’t love is dressing for a trend because Pinterest said you should.

But creating a wedding look that feels undeniably like you?

That will always have my attention

Real moments, yes.
But I’ll never pretend I don’t love a dramatic design moment too.
Because this? Absolutely.

Film inspires me. It breathes life into creativity and slows down moments to be truly present. If I could retire the digital camera and solely pick up my film camera every time you bet I would. Emilie and Timo’s love is FELT in these. It feels like stories shared with kids one day and memories to look back one as hairs turn grey. This is capturing the moment for me so when couples value film as much as I do it makes my heart soar.
So in honor of film Friday , you get two posts in one day! Hooray!

Traveling for work does two things for me.

It allows me to document the kinds of moments that pass by far too quickly for the people living them… and reminds me to slow down enough to fully enjoy my own.

Boston for me was:

-Hours of deep conversation while forcing to appreciate Noah Kahan
-Showing all of Boston my exceptional driving skills (which seem to only exist in major cities. My small town would strongly disagree.)
-Walking through endless history while saying β€œI could live here” approximately 8 million times
-Watching clients become actual friends
-Hard cider and chocolate with said clients-turned-friends
-Walking to dinner in Beacon Hill fully pretending the uphill walk back to the B&B was future me’s problem
-Frolicking through the streets with one of my best friends making content and taking pretty photos
-Eating a croissant that genuinely altered my life
-Going through film like money does, in fact, grow on trees

One thing I’ll never stop saying: pinch me.

I will never take for granted the life this work has given me. The ability to create, to travel, to connect with people in such meaningful ways, and somehow call that my job.

There’s something about leaving that always helps me come back to myself a little more. A reminder to slow down. To be present for my own life the same way I ask my clients to be present for theirs.

To chase adventure, fill my cup creatively, and then come home to my greatest gift, my family.

It all feels incredibly purposeful to me.

And I intend to never lose the ability to fully enjoy it.
