Based in Citrus Heights, California, Diana has been photographing babies, families and weddings since 1993. Her passion for photography began as a child in Pennsylvania after receiving her first camera. By the time her first roll of film was developed, she had already decided she would be a photographer. Diana studied photography in high school and planned on attending the Art Institute in Pittsbu

rgh, but fate brought her into a medical career. Initially working as an EMT/Firefighter, Diana went on to become a registered nurse (RN). During her 14 years working in the hospital, Diana continued to pursue her love of photography, as well as taking as many photography classes as possible. She eventually relocated to California with her husband, and after juggling her nursing career and running a part-time photography business, Diana stepped out on her own and opened her home studio full-time. By 2004, she moved to a larger house with a separate studio apartment - just perfect to run her business from! Her new location is set on an acre with a creek, oak trees and has old stone steps, which work wonderfully for her children and family portraiture. She now has a part-time staff of 4, is active in her local and state affiliate of PPA, and is an active member of the Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley. Diana also combines her nursing background with her expertise in photography by volunteering with local area hospitals. She founded a program in 2004, called “Little Blessings” where she will coordinate with the nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units and photograph chronic and terminally ill babies at no charge. The parents receive a beautiful 8x10 of their baby, as well as a CD slideshow set to music to keep. Her lab, Millers Professional Imaging, and her Album Company, Albums Inc, provide services and products to her at no charge for this wonderful service. Diana Miller served as President of the Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley in 2004 and was their Speaker Chairperson in 2005. She regularly participates in the PPSV Monthly Print Competition. She is also a committee member for the Association for Wedding Professionals International and served as a Board member in 2003 - 2004 for the Professional Photographers of California. Diana was profiled in Rangefinder Magazine in 2005 and also has her work shown in numerous wedding magazines across Northern California. She also taught a Super Monday Class at her studio in 2005 and has been a speaker at PPC convention twice.

Throwing it back to this women’s event from a few years ago!
I had such a blast doing quick headshots for everyone. We didn't do anything fancy—just a nice window for light and a tiny bit of editing to keep things natural.
Honestly, I think we spent more time laughing than actually posing, which is exactly how it should be! It’s those "oh wow, I actually love this!" moments that remind me why I love picking up my camera after 33 years!

I was so sad to hear of Ron Cunningham’s passing this month. He was the former Artistic Director of the Sacramento Ballet

I had the honor of photographing his 25th Anniversary and his birthday celebration back in 2012. It was such a special evening, and I’m grateful to have been part of it.

I wanted to share these images again in his memory—celebrating a remarkable man and all he gave to the arts.

Ron Cunningham's 25th Anniversary Celebration with the Sacramento Ballet and Birthday Bash at the California Museum, 10th and "O" Street, Sacramento CA. The Event was produced by Pecorelli Productions.

When was the last time you updated your company website photos?

You might be surprised how many businesses are still using headshots that are 5–10 years old… or photos that don’t match each other at all.

When your entire team has professional headshots with the same lighting, background, and style, it creates a polished and cohesive look that builds trust with potential clients.

We recently photographed the team at GLH&C Financial Services — individual headshots in the studio and a team portrait outside in our portrait park. Their updated website now looks clean, professional, and unified.

That’s exactly what strong branding photos should do.

For over 30 years, our studio has specialized in helping businesses market themselves with professional headshots and branding photography that elevate their image.

If your website photos are starting to look a little dated, it might be time for a refresh.

Ready to update your team’s look?
Call the studio at 916-729-5520 or email us at [email protected] and we’ll help you create a polished, professional look for your website and marketing.

Such an honor to photograph the Los Rios K9 team!
I recently created professional headshots for the team and a wall portrait of the three officers with Linkin, photographed here at our portrait park. When I delivered the finished piece to ARC, Linkin actually remembered me — tail wags and all!
The Los Rios Police Department is excited to introduce Linkin, a Golden Retriever born February 16, 2025. He’s part of a new pilot program focused on wellness and community connection across the campuses.
Owned and handled by Captain Benitez, with support from Officer Dashnaw and Officer Anderson, Linkin is currently completing 15 months of therapy and facility training at DAACK Pack Dog Training in Sacramento, sponsored by 4 Paws 2 Freedom.
He’s already met more than 400 students and faculty — and the response has been so paw-sitive!

A little vision, a lot of hard work, and 20+ years of amazing clients later — it’s hard to believe how far it’s come.

I’ve known Ramey for almost 30 years, so it was extra special to photograph her wedding portraits! Back when I was an RN in the UCDMC neonatal unit, Ramey was our unit clerk — and she even modeled for me when I was still taking photography classes at SCC and ARC. Full circle moment 😊
She and her groom Wesley wanted their session close to home in Curtis Park, so that’s exactly what we did… and we wrapped it up back at their house sharing some wine.
Thank you, Ramey and Wesley, for trusting me with their special portraits!

Meet Biggsely Thornton Middleton 🐾
This was my first time photographing a Sphynx cat and WOW — what a darling! Biggsely is sweet, easy-going, curious, and full of personality ++. I assumed his background was Egyptian (hence the name!), but his mom set me straight — they’re actually Canadian… eh? 😄
Huge thanks to his mom Porsche Rayford-Middleton for bringing him into the studio and letting me play and experiment. I’m officially a fan!
