Every photography class teaches you to avoid direct sunlight. Find the shade. Wait for the "golden hour" to fade into soft, even light.

I've never been able to follow that rule.

There's something about harsh, direct sun. The way it slices through leaves and lands in sharp, unpredictable patches that feels more honest than perfectly diffused light. It's messy. It's dramatic. It shows up different on every face, every time. That unpredictability is exactly what I chase.

This whole set was shot in direct sunlight, golden hour, no diffusers, no fighting the shadows — just working with what the light gave us. The result is moody, editorial, and impossible to fake with a filter.
