Today is hitting me harder than it has since probably ‘03 or ‘04. It’s a strange feeling. Maybe because it’s been 25 years. Maybe because I realized a third of the country was not alive or doesn’t remember September 11, 2001. Maybe it’s because I now have my own child who’s at an age where he can understand the basic facts. Today it felt right to visit the place that has become a renewed beacon of hope for Chicago, and our country.

But not you. You are simply turning a page, ready for what is to come in your next chapter. As Queen Dolly said, “I ain’t got time to be old. I can’t stop long enough to be old.”

You are the woman I want to step in front of my camera and celebrate. The woman whose dreams are endless, the woman building a legacy, the woman who will “sleep when she’s dead”.

Hey it’s me, Allison. I’m the photographer around here. There’s a few new people to the community and it been a minute since I introduced myself.

I have loved photography since the first time I picked up a camera and took a photography class 15 years ago. Honestly it really started with my first Nikon Coolpix I got in the 8th grade. I’ve had my fair share of terrible photos since then, but I’ve also had some really good ones that are magazine worthy (IMHO😉).

The first time I considered pursuing it as a career, I had just done bo***ir photos to celebrate my 30th birthday. I felt unstoppable. After my shoot I thought, “This feeling that I have right now, I want to give to every woman. Everyone deserves to feel like this and I want to share it.” The rest, as they say, is history.

I’ve jumped in front of the camera a few times since then and each time I’m reminded why I do what I do. ♥️
