It’s no secret that I love an intimate wedding and that The Dawson is one of my favorites. They have such greats Spaces for smaller groups and every time I’m there I’m reminded why I keep recommending them.
So when these high school sweethearts reached out to me just a couple months ago this location was of course on my list. They fell in love with it and we were blessed with a gorgeous October day. They had their ceremony on the terrace before enjoying dinner with their friends and family. Congrats Jocelyn and Dennis! October has arrived! Cooler temps and hopefully some gorgeous fall color. While we believe you should where whatever you want for your wedding not matter the time of year we did want to take a moment to appreciate these looks during spooky season :)

3 weddings in one weekend was wild and wonderful and also exhausting but in the best way possible. We had amazing weather and Chicago was showing off. I can’t say enough about how incredible all of my couples were this weekend. My heart is happy and my sd cards are full :)

On a gorgeous Friday in September Kristin and Kevin said I do surrounded by an intimate group of family and friends. Their romance was fast but as they both said “when you know, you know”. And it was clear watching them together how perfect they are for one another. It was the first day in ages that it just felt lovely to be outside. So drinking were flowing and guests were enjoying themselves and the grounds at Saddle and Cycle Club. Their ceremony was short and sweet. No formal sit down. Just gathering everyone around for some beautiful words and back to the party. Congrats to the newlyweds!

It’s not everyday that I get to photograph a couple in front of a a dinosaur, but that was the case on Monday! Mandy and James were joined by a small group of family and friends to say I do in front of Sue. Sue is the largest and best preserved Trex Skelton ever found and she permanently lives at the Field Museum now. Cross this one off my bucket list!

Gracie and Michael came over from the UK and decided to kick off their Route 66 trip by getting married in Chicago ! It was a hot one and we pivoted plans a couple times (shout out to the biting flies that took over north ave). But at the end of the day they said I do, got some iconic Chicago photos and ended the day with an amazing meal at Tre Dita Restaurant before kicking off their US roadtrip.
It’s always a bit more challenging planning from abroad but I love seeing people see the Beauty of Chicago for the first time !

Kinda chic to do your engagement photos after you’re already married!
To be fair we tried to do them before and Mother nature had other plans. First horrible smoke from the wildfires forced a reschedule and then the everyday thunderstorms and tornadoes pushed us back more. But we finally got a gorgeous evening for Faith and Henry’s session. Or should I say Hugo’s session but let’s be serious… he stole the show. I will always tell you to bring your dogs!
