I haven’t posted in forever, but behind the scenes, photos are everywhere! lol. This past two weeks, I’ve had the delight of photographing dozens of kids ages four weeks to eighteen years, so I’ve been DEEP in the editing weeds. To prove I am, in fact, still alive, here’s a post that pays tribute to my favorite way to share images— “scroll your phone real quick to find something you never got around to posting.” And voilà! And if you made it this far, a quick PSA— It’s the best thing ever to have pictures that show you how much your kids love you. ♥️

100 Days of Light: 3-23/100

My quest for this year was to embrace “ugly light”— harsh, incandescent, mixed, inadequate… all of it. It’s so cool to push to make all of it feel beautiful.

Welcome to the LayersOfLoveLoop — We’re a community of alumni connected by our love for cinematic storytelling. We find beauty in the narrative depth of daily life, and while each of our styles is beautifully unique, we all share the same goal: to weave light, composition, and emotion into a photograph that feels like a remembered scene.

Our stories may be different, but each one is worth telling.

I can‘t wait to see the story you share. Next up is: @

The time in the hospital is this weird combination of busy and still. Loud and quiet. Cozy and paper-thin-sheeted. And I’d have remembered so little of it if it weren’t for photos. ♥️

Did anyone else hoard like five of these swaddle blankets that they plan to keep for all time? 🫣

It’s been feeling summer-y lately, so what better way to commemorate than grassy legs, clingy trunks, and the ever-painful once-a-summer-is-plenty slip-n-slide.

Here’s to a weekend of color, light, movement, music, authenticity, and truly perfect timing. 🤌🏻

April 1: Day 1 of 100 Days of Light.

I’ve “participated” in the 100 Days of Light Challenge for a few years now. The premise is simple— let the light inspire you to take photos for 100 consecutive days. Despite my best intentions, sometimes I make it through just a little of the 100 days, other times a VERY little. The good news is the community is so cool, chill, and French that they’re like, “You do you. The point is to learn, practice, and be inspired.” And in this era of little-kid-entrenched life, I’m grateful for ALL the “you do you” energy.

And to that end, this year, I’m honoring photos I’m taking in real time, but also those I’ve taken previously but never brought to completion. Like this one!

Last year was the only year since I learned about the challenge that I didn’t even attempt it. Louie was just a couple weeks old, and I was deep in survival mode. It seems only fitting that now that we’ve come a full year from then, I’m back to celebrating the light. And how perfect that the most luminous guy we know is cloaked in backlight as we celebrated his first year as a member of the crew. He’s such a sunshine-y kid, and the perfect first day of what I hope will be 99 more days of photographing (and living) light.
