Can we talk about some things that nobody shares on Pinterest?

Your toddler suddenly doesn't want to wear the outfit you carefully picked out & someone needs a snack. Someone else needs to use the bathroom & the baby has decided that being held by Dad is suddenly unacceptable. And you're standing there thinking, “We paid money for this. PLEASE JUST COOPERATE.” 😂

You guys, I've been photographing families for over a decade now, and one thing I can tell you is your kids do not need to be perfect for your family photos to be beautiful!

However, there's definitely a few things you can do before your session to make the experience easier and more enjoyable for everyone... So I put together a new blog post with my favorite tips for preparing kids for family photos, including what to do before you arrive, what NOT to do, and how to approach those unpredictable little moments once we're actually taking pictures.

When editing these precious family portraits, I couldn't help but hear mom's words ringing in my ears from some of our conversations before hand.

"I was thinking more about what I will miss from each child in this stage. For Roman, he still melts into your arms for a snuggly hug and still has all his baby teeth. For Alana, she is just so happy and full of energy all the time. And Leo gives the best squeeze around your neck when you pick him up."

This is why I LOVE connecting with my clients before our session even happens. If you are still longing to create artwork from our photo journey this year (or maybe even last 🤣)... I'm here for you. ✨️

I know many clients want to sit with their images and come back to creating those beautiful keepsakes at a later date when they've had time to choose favorites. But I also know life happens and then you just feel overwhelmed at this step and never do it.

Even those of us with the best intentions can sit around with those beautiful portraits still being stuck on a hard drive and nowhere near our walls. If this sounds familiar... give me a shout!

Let's have you back in to look at papers, colors, finishes, and frames. I will guide you from start to finish and design your dream album or wall art piece so all you have to do from there is approve the mock up and wait til I deliver it to your doorstep.

And the quality? Let's just say it will still look the same when you're 80 and you want to pass it on to your favorite grandchild. Ha!
