Nothing special, but we had a beautiful bright burnt orange/red ish fireball occurred last night. The full moon shining right into this spot and so typically any small ones get washed out by the moon but the brighter ones you have a better chance on capturing or even seeing them and lucky for me I saw this one.

If you are not outside right now, watching the moon, you still have time until 1253 local time in Missouri to catch the orange glow in front of the moon. It is called a lunar eclipse. I find them kind of fascinating, but here’s what the moon currently looks like. It will not be a full eclipse. It is like a 90% or something like that grab some binoculars and you can see the stars around the moon as well.

Something about getting lightning in the Grand Canyon is always an exciting time even when you’re getting drenched on.

On this day, I had a couple close calls with lightning hitting near me or going straight over my head and feeling the static electricity.

Have you ever found that perfect spot where you can just kind of sit there all day and enjoy the nice weather with beautiful scenery? I found the exact spot outside of Flagstaff Arizona a few weeks ago.

Just imagine the slight breeze blowing in your face while White puffy clouds start to build. For a few minute you forget where you’re at and you’re at your most peaceful moment.

Though this place is next to a forgotten Highway I can only imagine how busy this little pull off was when this was the only highway going across America. This is the famous Route 66. Start in Los Angeles and go through St. Louis up to Chicago.

I will say there are some beautiful towns like Shamrock, Texas that you will pass through and wonder what it was like way back then.

Good morning and happy Saturday.

I’m still slowly working on photos and videos from the trip plus we had that storm the night I returned. So here are two more photos from last Sunday. The sunset does not do justice for how it really looked. But if you look close, you can see this little patch of blue sky and then I’ll hell broke loose. Later that night, my younger bother and I were sitting on his front porch, watching the shelf cloud move in with a few bolts.

Sometimes these are my favorite night. When he comes outside and just sit there watching things I like. He get just excited about the big bright lightning strikes as I do. Then he’s like did you get that one. Like I said, probably one of my favorite things to do.

On August 9, I was out chasing in South Central Arizona through the extremely early morning of August 10. As I was heading back towards this rest stop that I used as a place to kind to hanging out and relax and catch a couple hours of sleep. A storm was firing up just to the north and sinking to the south. I got into a spot that I liked with my frame and started to fire away. My favorite photo from the night is the one below that you can see a landing point on top of the Bradshaw mountain range with a crawler.

Im back home and will be here until at least November when I have a trip already preplanned and paid for. Then after that, I’m hoping to make it down to Florida to go photograph a couple rocket launches to prepare myself for the main event in the coming years.

Crazy storm we had last night in Washington, Missouri. Started with a very beautiful sunset that involved stormy clouds. Then you could hear the thunder in the distance from the Storm that was in Owensville, Missouri. Probably the loudest thunder I’ve heard. Have some of the craziest lightning last night as well. Constant strobe in the sky different colors.

This week I will be releasing the different photos that I took at the national parks and videos along the way of my travels. Have a fantastic week!
