We broke the ice on our 2026 season with this dandy buck in Kentucky! We located this buck after giving it about 13 hours after the shot, still alive.

Throwback to last season when I helped my buddy Brooks locate his first buck! We are looking forward to this coming season and hope we can help locate many more first deer! It is truly a special feeling getting to be with young hunters and seeing their faces light up!

Molly’s Great Escape

Molly had just come home from the vet when things took an unexpected turn.

The moment her owners opened the car door, Molly jumped out — with her retractable leash still attached.

The impact broke the handle, but the leash remained attached as Molly took off.

For anyone familiar with lost-dog searches, that’s a major red flag. A dog dragging a leash can easily become tangled or caught on something in the woods, making them a top priority for thermal drone searches.

So we went to work.

For nearly two hours, we searched the area, finding just about everything except Molly. We were getting ready to wrap up the search when, all of a sudden…

BARK!

We heard it coming from somewhere above us on the bank.

I grabbed my flashlight, shined it up the hill, and there she was.

Molly!

Leash still attached.
Not hung up.
A little scared and skittish, but safe.

Her owner climbed the bank and was finally able to get his hands on her.

And let’s just say Molly wasn’t the only one happy about that reunion.

Her owners were thrilled — and especially her sister, who was absolutely overjoyed to have her home.

Sometimes the thermal drone finds them.

Sometimes the flashlight does.

But either way, the goal is always the same:

Get them home.

When you see a field full of deer, you have to stop to admire God’s creation!

I searched two different days for Zeena, who vanished without a trace, with no luck. We caught a break when a neighbor told us he heard what sounded like a calf bawling up in the brush from his house. The owners were able to then locate Zeena and successfully catch her!

UPDATE‼️‼️. She has been found and is back home safe!

Folks, please be on the lookout for this mini highland cow in the Catlettsburg, KY area! Last known to be in the barn at 7PM Saturday evening. Please let me know of any sightings or any information that may lead to the whereabouts of this cow!
