Sometimes we hafta risk it for the biscuit. This buck has a crease across its chest from a r***e round. Hunter thought it likely to be non lethal but wanted to do a wellness check. It was hidden in some ludicrous cover so we had to ease in under the canopy for a look see

Legends

Lost sheep! A few days back we got a call from Kathy about some lost sheep down in Jefferson. Me and dad headed out to see what could be done. Some dogs had broke into the pen and killed one sheep outright then maimed 2 more. A ram and pregnant ewe had escaped and disappeared with no trace. We got the call about 24 hrs after the event. With the unknown as to whether the dogs had caught these two as well and no idea of travel direction we started with a grid of the most logical lines of travel. We rapidly located the ewe near a creek which was lucky. Unfortunately she was very reluctant to let Kathy approach. We had to find her several times as she was very nervous and would almost allow herself to be caught before bolting so we would need to relocate her with the drone several times in thick cover which made the moving target difficult. We finally cornered her up near the creek and as I breathed a prayer for one more attempt the ewe bailed off the little bluff over the creek and into the water, which slowed her down enough for the Kathy’s husband to jump in and get a hand on her! As our tagline on our logo says, ‘sometimes you need a little help from above’ and it felt like an answer to prayer. Wet but rescued! Hadessa the sheep is doing well! Unfortunately at this time the ram is still MIA. But we are waiting on any news to restart the search.
