Last week I had the opportunity to photograph the Cheraw versus Chesterfield softball game. 🥎

Final score: Chesterfield 12, Cheraw 6.

Covering this game reminded me why I started in the first place: local sports, raw emotion, the energy of a Friday night rivalry.

Polished media days have been my main focus lately – and I love them – but things are changing. I'm pledging to get back to covering more live sporting events in our community. The action, the atmosphere, the moments that don't get a second chance.

So consider this a promise: more games, more galleries, more commitment to the athletes and schools that make our area special.

Layla – a familiar face in front of my lens, but never quite like this. 🏀🎾✨

I've photographed this young lady for basketball and tennis – always in uniform, always in action, always locked in. But seeing her all glammed up for prom? A whole different kind of focus.

Simple. Beautiful. A blue gown with just the right amount of sparkle – catching every downtown light as the evening settled in. She didn't need much. The dress did the talking, and the lights did the rest.

Layla, you're a competitor on the court and the field – but Friday night, you moved with a different kind of grace. So proud to have captured this side of you.

First time working together – but it felt like we've shot a dozen sessions. ✨

Jordan has assisted me on photoshoots before, always behind the scenes, always eager to learn. This time, she stepped in front of my lens for her own prom session – and absolutely owned it.

Camyiah (yes, the same incredible makeup artist from my last post) did Jordan's makeup flawlessly. Soft, luminous, prom‑perfect.

And can we talk about the styling? Black tux. Silver gown. The contrast was sharp, elegant, and timeless. The two of them didn't just wear their outfits – they wore the confidence that came with them.

Posing? Effortless. Composition? They naturally fell into every frame like they'd been modeling for years. No stiff directions, no awkward adjustments. Just two people comfortable in their own skin, trusting the process.

We worked back‑to‑back to make sure both milestones got the spotlight they deserved. And honestly? You made it easy. Same focus, same drive, same quiet confidence.

Multiple scholarships. An exceptional saxophone player. A son who makes his mom and family beam with pride.

Camyiah and Bo – it's always a pleasure having you both in front of my lens. This is our second prom season together, and watching you grow as individuals and as a couple has been a privilege.

Camyiah, I've photographed you for birthdays, sports, and now prom year after year. Your talent as a makeup artist shines through in everything you do – you bring that same precision and artistry to every session. Always polished, always poised.

Bo – intelligent, respectful, and a genuine young man. You carry yourself with a quiet confidence that makes my job easy.
