🚂 CHUGGING THROUGH HISTORY! 🚂
My amazing fiancé (and Tanya Jo Photography’s official field photographer for the day!) caught a glimpse of history rolling right through Huntingdon County, PA today. Seeing the legendary Big Boy steam locomotive in person is an absolute thrill—what an incredible piece of American history and engineering!

There is something so magical about capturing love in its most natural element.

My greatest joy as a photographer is documenting real-life moments outdoors—the kind you can look back on and feel the exact emotion of that day. Being asked to capture Dani and Xuan’s engagement session at the iconic Cypress Tree Tunnel was such an honor!

I love when sessions feel like an adventure rather than a staged photo shoot. Seeing them interact naturally against the Point Reyes backdrop was pure magic. Combining my passion for travel with their love story made for memories I’ll cherish just as much as they will. 🌲🌞🌊

🌊 The Silent Sentinel of the Pier📸
There’s something incredibly soulful about a pelican in profile.

Spent an afternoon at Point Reyes National Seashore, and while the rugged cliffs usually steal the show, this local resident was the real star of the pier. These birds are the ultimate masters of the coast—one minute they’re perched in stoic silence, looking like seasoned sailors watching the tide, and the next, they’re showing off that incredible engineering with a precision dive into the surf.

Whether they’re tucking their wings for a high-speed plunge or just preening their feathers against the moody California mist, pelicans bring a prehistoric elegance to the shoreline that I never get tired of capturing.

Point Reyes reminds me that travel photography isn’t just about the “big” views—it’s about those quiet, feathered moments in between.
