Ellis House now offers professional event audio systems both in-house and for off-site events throughout Eastern Iowa.

Whether you’re bringing together 20 people or 200, our goal is simple:

Not every meeting needs a conference room.

Sometimes you just need a space that feels different.

Our front lounge at Ellis House is available for weekday rentals and is perfect for team meetings, client presentations, workshops, networking groups, brainstorming sessions, and small gatherings.

With comfortable seating, natural light, high speed WiFi, and a thoughtfully designed atmosphere, it’s a place where conversations flow a little easier and ideas have room to grow.

Oh, and that “painting” in the gold frame isn’t actually a piece of art. It’s a 65” TV you can use for presentations or video calls.

Available by the hour, half day, or full day.

Does anyone recognize these two?

We’ve poured our hearts and our money into building our space and beautifying our little corner of Ellis, to have these two steal our sprinkler system for the new sod we just had installed including the smart timer, and left our hose running full blast down the sidewalk for 10 hours. They also broke something of ours and threw it in the grass.

They were peering in our windows and while this will cost us a couple hundred and some hours to replace, I’m just glad we have a full security system inside and out.

Please keep an eye out for these two, and if you see them, please keep an eye on your things.

First Laughs at Ellis House is coming up Friday, June 12.

We’re opening the doors for a night of live improv comedy with Yesandia, a local non-profit improv comedy group bringing a fully unscripted show to Ellis House.

Every scene, joke, and moment is made up on the spot, so the show only happens once.

This is also the first public event inside Ellis House, which makes it a fun chance to see the space, support local performers, and be part of the first night of many.

Small details change how a place feels.

We just wrapped another exterior update at Ellis House with fresh landscaping and new sod going in to help create a more intentional first impression.

When we took this building on, the vision was never just to create four walls people could rent. It was to build a space that feels thoughtful, refined, and different from the moment you arrive.

Because the experience starts before you ever walk through the door.

Cedar Rapids deserves beautiful spaces too.

Cedar Rapids Swifties, I need your opinion!

We’re thinking about hosting an unofficial Swiftie-inspired weekend in the near future at Ellis House and want to see if there’s enough interest before we build it out.

The idea would be two separate events:

Friday Night: The Spotlight Social
A glam night for adults with music, photo ops, friendship bracelets, themed drinks/mocktails, trivia, and a sing-along/dance party feel.

Saturday Afternoon: Mini Swiftie Social
A family-friendly version for kids and their grown-ups with bracelet making, dancing, games, photo ops, treats, and a chance to dress in their favorite era.

If both events sold out, we’d look at adding a second adult night Saturday and a second family party Sunday.

This would be held at Ellis House, our new boutique event space in Cedar Rapids.

Would you come to something like this? And if so, would you be more interested in the adult night, the family-friendly event, or both?
