StudioU Photography personalized portraiture designed to tell yoUr story Heidi is a portrait artist. Her ability to create authentic and beautiful images is her gift.

Her talent for lighting, classic posing and composition has gained her national recognition and numerous awards. When working with Heidi you'll immediately notice her bubbly, cheerful nature- instantly making you feel comfortable and confident in your portrait process. Your experience at StudioU will be fun! Heidi's husband of 10 years, Troy, is one of the wittiest fellows around! With a desire to be fair and consistent he always takes extra time to educate each and every client on the products offered. Troy manages all the image files and its his job to complete the portrait process. His thorough and particular qualities make him an especially talented retoucher- which our clients rave about! Heidi and Troy's dedication to the craft of photography shines through in every portrait they create. The Eifferts have given back to the industry through instructing at college level, participating in platform lectures and hands-on workshops across the country and by serving on the PPI board of directors, PPA council & HCC advisory board. Heidi and Troy have received their Photographic Masters, Craftsman and CPP degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. They have two small children, Beckett (age 4) and Audra (age 1).

This year’s senior clients are THE best group! We are seriously blessed. Many are repeat clients (like Abby here) and there’s a story for all of them!

Abby’s story is that she moved during high school and now lives in IC. So instead of having them come up to CR, I rolled it back to our O.G. studioU way and drove to their house, set-up the lights & background in her basement, just feet from her room, so she could change and take photos comfortably. Bonus we were able to feature her dogs and her folks even snuck in too, love them!

Then we went all around both Iowa + City High’s campuses - Did U know City High won an award for most beautiful school campus? It’s true!

Abby even put on a brave face and walked deep into a nature trail (on a HOT humid day with lots of bugs) not to mention the stench (PU) - but I think the results were worth it dont U??

It’s FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and we can’t wait to watch our favorite LM cheerleader 📣.
I first met Kylee because she was my daughter‘s gymnastic coach at Twisters. Audra ADORED her and I love that she has an awesome role model to look up to!
We had the best session, combining all the things Kylee loves most. We were extra thankful for the boost her dad provided to get her up on the goal post, sorry, Mr. Hammes if we broke the rules 👀🙈❤️🦁🖤

“Move over Trump, the Kennedy’s are back” 🤣
It was this & many more ubsurd things that flew out of my mouth during Kennedy’s session. In fact, when her lil sis gets a hold of this reel we’re promised a voice over roast, I can’t wait!!! This session was truly one for the books; it’s not every day that we chase a sunset only to have a hot air balloon drop into the backdrop, then the pilots waved us over for a inside peek 👀! Ahhhh sweet, sweet memories for a sweet, kind soul! ☀️

Photographing LMVP has become one of our favorite late Summer traditions. It always signals “back to school” for me and that brings back all the nostalgia. It’s something special to see the show Linn-Mar High School puts on! The Marching Lions, Cheer, Poms & Football all come together to provide quality entertainment + school spirit, it’s just the best! This year we have a freshman (the cute drummer 🥁 boy) — so we are anxiously awaiting the debut! Let’s GO LIONS! 🦁

Coming at U straight from the heartland of America, The Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa. I’m here capturing headshots & event coverage for our clients & BRINCK HERITAGE (a division of Idaho Forest Group). It’s a BIG week here, as they are launching what I like to call “the supplement for crops” — a magical syrup substance from forest to field, that’s increasing yields & helping crops and farmers alike GROW. This is a family business with so much integrity and I’m super excited to share in the celebration of this week! Come say hello! We are in the BIG white tent, with the steam engines doing live cable ploughing. 🌽📸🤠🚜🌲
