Holding on to the last shreds of summer with two hands....
While simultaneously finishing up my holiday mini set....has my heart in two places.

I was just talking with this momma the other day about summer as a kid. How it felt so long and slow and beautiful and this summer has literally raced to the finish line at record speed. So happy we were able to pause time and savor this beautiful summer night.

We got rained out so many times that finally we just went for it and got lucky!
This super hard working little family took a break long enough to enjoy an evening at home with their favorite boy and I was so excited to hang with them!
We played on the swings and raced through the wet grass playing red light, green light and of course played with trucks..big and small.
Rhett was most excited to show me Mommy and Daddy's new Dump truck (Check them out @ T&K Trucking Co. 315-396-9061) for all your ..dump truck stuff...😆

Anyway..Like I keep saying, keep it simple.

Last night I had a session with one of my favorite families. They are gentle and kind and documenting their daughter’s life has been a gift.
Every summer when I visit they gift me the sweetest things and today I just wanted to post them. A simple square in my grid that means so much.
Delicate home grown flowers in a mason jar, fresh fruit and homemade cookies (always on a thrifted tray for me to keep) beautiful beverages.. and always an item or two from their daughter’s closet. Treasured pieces that remind us both of how quickly time passes. When I use those clothes with a client or one of my own grandbabies.. a little part of her whimsical youth lives on.

Maybe this is just a gentle reminder for myself. That the world needs more of this kind of intention.🤎.
