The Authentic Equestrian's Photographer I am an equine and pet photographer based in Western New York.

I grew up on my family’s dairy farm and have been surrounded by horses from a very young age. When creating artwork, I celebrate the history and passion behind our world's magnificent creatures. Allow me to take you on a journey that will celebrate your wild side. It is my greatest accomplishment within my portrait business to be known as the authentic equestrian’s photographer. I am lucky enough to say I know the unconditional love that comes with a heart horse, and I know they can’t stay with us forever. I strive to photograph the equestrians in their truest form, the person they can only be when they are with their horse.

Can we just take a moment for Mia & Rocky's portraits with a special appearance by Bruce Wayne (quite possibly the best dog name ever).

Everything about this session was a VIBE. The dress, the boots, the saddle, the light and the horse, I know I was here for every bit of it.

We photographed this trio at Amy Hanssen Training Center, and I don't think I could have asked for a better evening to bring this vision to life. These are the kinds of portraits that remind me just how much I love what I do. A little western, a little editorial, and a whole lot of personality.

I'm genuinely so proud to have my name attached to these images. 🖤

There’s just something about cats, they may make you work a little harder for their affection, but when they decide you’re their person, there’s nothing quite like it.

A little throwback because I still absolutely love this portrait. The lighting, the outfit and just the two of them together, this is still easily one of my favorites from this session.

But here’s the completely unrelated fun fact that has lived rent free in my brain ever since: Directly behind me was the largest pumpkin plant I have ever seen in my entire life. 😂 Like, genuinely impressive enough that apparently my brain decided this was information worth keeping forever.

To this day, I still ask them about that pumpkin plant almost every time I see them.
Did I photograph it? No. Do I remember it with alarming clarity? Absolutely.

Anyway as I was saying, beautiful horse portrait, incredible light, unforgettable pumpkin plant. 😂

I had a client specifically request that I capture her mare’s RBF during her black background portraits and my honest response was mad respect for committing to accuracy!

If we’re creating portraits that capture your horse exactly as you know and love them, sometimes that means beautiful expressions, soft eyes and ears forward and sometimes it means making sure that resting bitch face is properly documented for generations to come. 😂

Months apart, different seasons and different animals but that little hug hasn't changed one bit.

I love seeing how naturally that connection with animals shows up every single time she's in front of my camera. Some kids just seem to be born with that gentle, completely uncomplicated love for every animal they meet.

And I have a feeling this is only the beginning of a lifetime spent loving them. 🖤

Give me the big group portraits!

I genuinely love the challenge of taking a whole bunch of personalities, two and four-legged and figuring out how to bring everyone together into one portrait that feels intentional.

And yes, the more animals you add, the more interesting it gets. I know larger group portraits can feel a little intimidating from the other side of the camera. Will everyone cooperate? Will the dogs look? How are we possibly going to arrange everyone?

That part is my job.

Your job is just to bring me the people and animals you love, I’ll figure out the rest. 🖤

Class of 2028

It is NOT too early to start thinking about your senior portraits. I know 2028 probably still sounds forever away, but now is actually a great time to start looking at photographers, finding a style you connect with and thinking about what you want your senior portraits to look and feel like.

Senior portraits don’t have to be the same handful of poses in the same locations everyone else uses. This is an opportunity to build something completely around you, your personality, your interests, your style and the places that make sense for who you are.

And finding the right photographer is a big part of that so, Class of 2028, start looking. Start saving the images you love, talk with different photographers, ask questions. You have plenty of time, and that’s exactly why now is such a great time to begin!

Winter is coming, but that doesn’t mean your horse has to disappear from my camera until spring.

It just means we get to try something a little different. Snowy fields, fuzzy winter coats, cowboy hats and maybe a few evergreens too! Winter gives us an entirely different canvas to work with, and honestly, some of my favorite equine portraits have come from embracing the season instead of waiting for warmer weather.

Your story with your horse doesn’t stop when the leaves fall so why should we stop photographing it? And if we can throw a Christmas tree on the end of a rope and drag it through the snow? Even better. 😂🌲
