New ! This week I take a look at Godzilla Minus One and why its most powerful battle isn't against a giant monster.... It's a story about courage, sacrifice, trauma, guilt, and discovering the value of a human life.

New SciFiFri! Top 10 Gut-Wrenching Sci-Fi Sacrifices.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uSeBOiXsnjA

What makes a sacrifice truly heroic?

For this week’s Sci-Fi Fri, I’m counting down ten of science fiction’s most powerful sacrifices.

From galactic adventures to intimate family stories, each choice points toward the same idea:

Your well-being, your future, your life....before mine.

The video contains *major spoilers,* so consider yourself warned.

Which sci-fi sacrifice belongs in the top ten?

What does true sacrifice look like? These ten science-fiction chara...

I wanted to share a beautiful new music video with you today:

"Brightest Light" by Dylan Chance.

The song was born out of deep grief after 12-year-old Dylan lost her piano teacher to a rare disease. What makes the song so powerful is that it reminds us that light still exists.

Most of us can point to a teacher, mentor, family member, or friend who helped us become who we are. Their impact extends far beyond the time we spent with them. Their influence can carry even further when we become a light for someone else.

I had the opportunity to work with her to create this tribute, filmed here in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley.

I love when art allows us to give voice to something painful and then offers us something hopeful to look toward.

If the video moves you, please consider sharing it with someone who may need a little encouragement today.

SciFiFri special "Mindset Edition!"
A distributor told me recently the best way to avoid failure in indie film is simple: don't make films. We had a laugh, but it got me thinking about what actually separates the people who keep going from the ones who quit this nearly-impossible career.

I broke it down into three principles I now use as a diagnostic when I'm feeling stuck. I'm calling it the Triple T Mindset. There's a full video is coming soon.

Follow the page so it lands in your feed the moment it's live.

I saw Pacific Rim three times in theaters.
Twice alone.
That’s NOT NORMAL! (for me).
That’s the power of a movie fully committed to fun.

James Cameron's The Abyss uses underwater aliens, Cold War tensions, and crushing pressure to ask a surprisingly timeless question: when we're pushed to our limits, do we become more fearful... or more humane? In this episode of Sci-Fi Fri, we explore the character, worldbuilding, and themes beneath the surface of one of sci-fi's most thoughtful first-contact stories (SPOILERS!). Bonus: it may have more in common with The Day the Earth Stood Still than most people think...

If you had a time machine, where would you go??
The past to fix a mistake? The future to see what's coming? Maybe use tomorrow's knowledge to play the lottery? 😏
This week's Sci-Fi Fri looks at H.G. Wells' The Time Machine and the idea that time travel is more than a storytelling engine. It's a way of exploring where our choices might lead us.
Different generations have used the same story to explore class division, nuclear fears, grief, loss, and the future of humanity.
If The Time Machine were remade today, what future do you think it would show us?
