I just watched a horrible video posted by Congressman Joe Neguse. I think my favorite stallion on Piceance Creek is in this video. This is heartbreaking. Here’s a screenshot from the video. It’s hard to see who I’m talking about but, the coloring seems right.

Revisiting old photos from the Sand Wash Basin. This was taken before the 2021 roundup. I’ll be heading up in the next few days so I can say goodbye to horses I’ve come to love before this roundup starts. It’s heartbreaking to think about. The war on all wildlife must end. We can coexist but, first attitudes must change.

The Piceance Creek roundup is supposed to start today. Or within the next few days. I went up yesterday but, decided to go home very early after I found a potential tire issue. I didn’t see many horses. I did see lots of cows. It always comes down to this for me, why remove wild horses and claim there is no forage but, leave the cows on the range? Seems like BLM gaslighting to me.
Facing an uncertain future, some will be very lucky and have a soft landing others won’t be as fortunate. These photos are from May.
