it’s truly hard to describe being a photographer. it’s never been “just taking a photos” or “clicking a button.” it’s getting to freeze a moment in time for people to treasure forever. it’s capturing the hand holding and the hugs when nobody else is watching but ensuring it’s the kind of photo that brings tears to their eyes when they see it. it’s getting all the emotions - the laughter, the joy, the nostalgia, the longing, the pride - because this is something you’ll never be able to recreate; this wedding, this age, this relationship, this season.

if I could pick one word to describe my brother on his wedding day it would be giddy. watching him be so excited to see his bride and delighted to just spend time with her and laughing with all the people who were there to celebrate the day, brought me to tears multiple times. so, so, so happy to have alannah as FAMILY now 🫶🏼

fun fact … way back when in a time before I had three kids at home and was a full-time photographer, I was an English teacher and Josie was my student 🥹🥹 but then I got to witness her marry the love of her life this summer and it was really really really sweet! I’m so glad I got to be a part of this day 🤍

Lex + Gabe told me one of the most important parts of their wedding day was the ceremony - they included special elements to honor the people they loved, violin music by the groom’s brother, their first look as she walked down the aisle, and communion for them and their guests! as a photographer, these were some really precious, intimate moments I got to capture 🤍
