📸 Essex Camera Club — First Meeting of the New Year!

Join us Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 7:30 pm for our first meeting of the new club year — and this time, it's Show and Tell!

Members will be sharing images from summer vacations, recent club outings, ongoing projects, or anything else they'd love to show off. It's a fun, low-pressure way to celebrate the work you've created — whether from this summer or anytime over the past year.

Not a member yet? Come check us out! This is a great, low-key way to meet our members, see the talent in our club, and get a feel for what we're all about. Whether you're a total beginner or a seasoned pro, all are welcome — bring a friend who loves photography too!

📸 **Photo Walk in Downtown Maplewood – This Sunday!**

Join the Essex Photo Club this **Sunday, July 19 at 8:30 AM** for a photo walk through downtown Maplewood!

If you're new to the concept, a photo walk is a fun creative challenge — instead of shooting in a picturesque garden, you're hunting for compelling images in an everyday environment. It's a great way to sharpen your eye, test out new gear, or practice techniques you've been wanting to try.

17 Stories Up!, The Art & Excitement of Construction Photography

Ted DeCagna is a 28-year construction and industrial photographer.

On May 7th, Ted will present a collection of striking construction images, including never-before-seen views from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge climb, interiors of bridge towers, New York office buildings, nighttime bridge and highway sign installations, steel workers in action and recent shoots from NJ sand mines.

Ted will share how he captures dynamic action on construction sites and bridges—and how he finds artistic images in unexpected and often dangerous places. The presentation will also feature interactive “Guess the Location” photos, followed by surprising reveals.

In addition, Ted will offer practical technical tips for shooting at night, in extremely dark interiors, and during extreme weather conditions.
