🌵🐾 ALONG THE TRAIL — FRIDAY, AUGUST 28

Good morning, Burkburnett! ☀️🤠

Gary’s got the coffee.
Shady’s got her nose pointed down the trail.
And Friday has officially arrived!

Today we’re taking the scenic route around town, waving at a few friends, and enjoying that small-town Texas feeling that makes Burkburnett home. ❤️

🚴 HOTTER’N HELL WEEKEND IS HEATING UP!

The Hotter’N Hell Hundred is rolling through nearby Wichita Falls all weekend, and today is packed with action:

🚵 Wee-Chi-Tah Mountain Bike races — starting 8 AM
🏁 Criterium races — beginning this afternoon
🎪 Consumer Show — 1–9 PM
🍝 Spaghetti Dinner — 5:30–9 PM
👧 Rug Rats Mountain Bike Race — 6 PM

The big endurance ride happens Saturday morning, with the official start scheduled for about 7:05 AM.

So if you see cyclists around Wichita County today, give ’em a little extra room and a whole lotta Texas encouragement! 🚴‍♂️🤠

As for Gary & Shady…

🐾 Adventure second.

Because life doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes the best Friday is simply good coffee, good company, and a road with somewhere interesting to wander.

🇺🇸 BURKBURNETT, THIS IS OUR MOMENT 🇺🇸

We always say this town takes care of its own.
Right now, we get to prove it!

This is Ashley Nettles.

She’s part of our community.
And every single day… she walks 2 HOURS to work and 2 HOURS back home.

Four hours.
On foot.
In Texas heat, wind, and cold.

Ashley was in a serious car accident when she was young that left her with a lifelong disability…
but she still shows up. Every day. No excuses.

That kind of grit?
That’s small-town strong.

But here’s the truth—
she shouldn’t have to do this alone.

We’re coming together as a community to get Ashley an electric 3-wheel bike so she can get to work safely and finally have some relief.

This is bigger than a bike.
This is Burkburnett showing who we are.

💥 If 200 people gave just $10… we’d be there.
💥 If you can’t give, sharing this could reach someone who can.

Let’s rally like we always do.
Let’s show up like we always do.

Because around here—
we take care of our own.
