Proud is an understatement! Way to go, Ally Spongr DeGon!

We are proud to congratulate Ally Spongr DeGon, our Director of Public Art, on being named to Buffalo Business First's 40 Under 40 Class of 2026.

This recognition reflects Ally's remarkable leadership not only within the National Heritage Area, but across multiple organizations dedicated to preserving and sharing Niagara's history. In addition to leading our public art initiatives, Ally serves as Museum Director of the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center and Executive Director of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway, helping ensure the powerful stories of freedom seekers, abolitionists, and the Underground Railroad continue to educate and inspire future generations.

Through innovative public art, museum leadership, and heritage interpretation, Ally has helped transform how residents and visitors connect with the people, places, and stories that define Niagara Falls. Her work has elevated untold histories, strengthened our community's sense of place, and positioned Niagara as a national destination for authentic heritage experiences.
