On October, 23rd there will be a service followed by a gathering for Andrew Kist in Philadelphia. Here are the details for the service and gathering.
Service details: Please join us on Saturday, October 23rd at 11:30 a.m.when Andrew's ashes will be interred with those of his father, Eugen Kist, in Philadelphia. This ceremony will be at Ivy HillCemetery, located at 1201 Easton Rd., Philadelphia, PA, 19150. Any of Andrew's friends who want to say a few words, or many words, are strongly encouraged to do so.

Gathering Details: After the service, there will be a get-together at a restaurant in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. The gathering will be indoors. Everyone who attends is required to produce an ID and proof of vaccination to gain admission. This is now a requirement in all Philadelphia restaurants. Update on a Service for Andrew Kist Andrew Kist Photography

It was heartbreaking to share the news of Andrew Kist's passing on May 24th. We have all struggled with this sudden, unexpected, and all too early loss. Andrew meant so much to so many people.
Please join us on Saturday, October 23rd at 11:30 a.m.when Andrew's ashes will be interred with those of his father, Eugen Kist, in Philadelphia. This ceremony will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery, http://www.ivyhillcemetery.org/ located at 1201 Easton Rd., Philadelphia, PA, 19150. For those of you who are familiar with the area, Easton Rd. is a continuation of East Mount Airy Ave. Any of Andrew's friends who want to say a few words, or many words, are strongly encouraged to do so. There will be a gathering following the service. Location and details will be shared at that time. Covid protocols will inform this planning.
Andrew Kist was most certainly a photographer; but he was also a sketch artist, owner of Andrew Kist Photography, son, husband, friend, swimmer, writer, chef, friend, comic, connoisseur, storyteller, and so much more. He fell in love with New York City when he attended what would be his first of many West Village Halloween parades during high school. Andrew continued to document his life in the city, much of it spent with so many of you, through his photographs.
Andrew made friends and conversed with a wide variety of characters. He was always ready to meet someone new, have a conversation about something obscure or mundane, and share his ideas (which were abundant). If you ever met him, you were sure to leave wanting just a little bit more of his time, his laughter, and his presence.

It is with tremendous sadness that I share the news of Andrew Kist's death. Andrew Kist Andrew Kist Photography was a photographer, but also a sketch artist, swimmer, writer, chef, friend, son, husband, comic, connoisseur, storyteller, and so much more. He fell in love with New York City when he attended his first of many West Village Halloween parades during high school, and continued to document his life here, much of it spent with so many of you, through his photographs.
Andrew made friends and conversed with a wide variety of characters. He was always ready to meet someone new, to have a conversation about something obscure or mundane, and to share his ideas (which were abundant). If you ever met him, you were sure to leave wanting just a little bit more of his time, his laughter, and his presence. His favorite photographer was Henri Cartier-Bresson, and this quote makes me think of how Andrew captured me and so many of us in his photos:
“It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson
I have been in touch with Andrew's mother, who appreciates all the thoughts and prayers. Funeral arrangements or other dedications will be at the convenience of the family and we will share details when they are confirmed.
