Food is always first when it comes to the State Fair, but my other favorite thing is visiting all the people who make this state (and the fair) run smoothly and safely. A million thank-you's to all the men & women from all over the state who come to work patrol along with the Minnesota State Fair Police, plus medical professionals from the Saint Paul Fire Department and Regions EMS, the bomb squad from the Saint Paul Police Department, and lots of troopers from the Minnesota State Patrol! And let's not forget the static displays from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, and the fire division of the MN Dept. of Natural Resources. Also, special thanks to the K9's from MN DNR Enforcement for the great demo, and the Saint Paul Police Canine Unit for always hanging out in the animal tent! Not sure what Ash was up to from the Roseville Fire Department - Minnesota, but thanks for coming out and showing off that sweet Rivian! Hope you all had a great year!!

The vehicle inspectors, who are the civilian/non-sworn LEO side of the Minnesota State Patrol's Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, now have their own vehicles! But since they're not Troopers and don't do patrol, the MN Dept. of Public Safety made these new units gray/silver like the State Capitol Security squads. You may see these on the road assisting Troopers on commercial stops if needed, but they'll mostly be hanging out at the weigh stations and doing on-site school bus inspections. Love this look! Congrats to you guys on the new acquisitions!

Paid a visit to the Edina Police & Fire Departments at the annual open house for the PD side of things. I had a great time talking to people from different areas of the department, and even reps from the FBI and county crisis team! I talked so much, I didn't even make it inside for the jail and station tours! However, I did get to see all the cool stuff I specialize in, and even saw the new EV Chevy Blazers that are becoming popular. Thanks to everyone at Edina PD for another fun year, plus all the groups from the community and other agencies for coming out as well! Agencies include the bomb squad from the Bloomington Police Department, MN, water patrol from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota State Patrol, the local FBI office, and of course Edina Fire.

Beautiful evening for the annual Cookout With The Cops hosted by the Anoka Police Department! A great opportunity to hang out with your neighbors and local law enforcement while enjoying food and yard games, dancing to a live DJ, and checking out some cool trucks! Thanks to everyone at APD for putting on this fun event!

The newly formed Otsego Fire Department doesn't even go into service until Jan. 1st of 2027, but they're not wasting any time getting out and meeting people in the community! Today, they brought Tower 11 to the local farmer's market for everyone to check out! It was great to meet the 3 men currently putting this department together and hear how the process is going. Looking forward to seeing their new station and the rest of the apparatus!

Sending my condolences to Officer Wills and the Lino Lakes Police Department on the sudden & unexpected loss of recently retired K9 Argos. He was loved by the entire community (except the bad guys) and will be sorely missed. I had the privilege of seeing him 'in action' a few times over the years. His photo is in the doggie dictionary under the definition of "good boy". Rest In Peace, Argos. Thank you for all your hard work, plus all the love you brought to the city of Lino Lakes and surrounding area. 🐾💙

Statement from LLPD: The Lino Lakes Police Department is sad to announce the unexpected loss of retired K9 Argos, resulting from medical complications. K9 Argos served our community with his handler, Officer Krissy Wills, from June 28th 2019 until January 28th 2026. Argos lived out his remaining time, enjoying his retirement with Officer Wills. We are grateful for the many years of service from Argos and Officer Wills.
