I've been using OM System gear for over 10 years now, and the 12-40/2.8 PRO is definitely my "indispensable" lens. Any situation I encounter, I know I can depend on this lens to give me a great photo (as long as I do -my- part)! Close-ups or landscapes, low light or mid-day, this lens can always handle what I point it at! :)

Second post about the OM System M.Zuiko ED 90mm/3.5 IS PRO super-macro lens...
-this lens is weatherproof, so if paired up with an OM-5 or OM-1 or OM-3, take it out in the inclement weather and make some close-ups!
-the lens has built-in Image Stabilization. If your OM camera supports Sync IS, it will use both in-camera and in-lens stabilization. If your OM camera doesn't support Sync IS, it will use the lens IS. Not every close-up situation allows for a tripod, so this IS-ability is pretty great!
-Here's my recent close-up subjects...
+a plant on my dining room table, with some in-camera effect filtering going on...
+a spider that has taken up residence near by house's backdoor and he is BIG, so getting close with a macro lens was mildly terrifying (but because it is a telephoto macro lens, I didn't have to get tooooo close to get this level of magnification)...
+and some tomatoes on our back park garden! :)

I've always been fond of using as , and this screwmount 100/4 is no exception! Still, most folks will likely use this lens for its close-up ability...and for its affordability! :) Pick up this sweet lens for just $165, and adapt it to whev mirrorless camera you want (OR use it on a classic Spotmatic)!
