Update on life:
Back on January 2nd, I fell walking my dog. It was not his fault, at all. However, I landed on my chin on the concrete. The impact broke my chin in half, snapped my TMJ jawbone like a twig, and crushed my TMJ socket. I had to have emergency surgery January 3rd to plate my chin back together and my TMJ jawbone back together. Forward two weeks later, my jawbone wasn’t staying in place on the right. So, January 23rd was my second surgery to fix that. It was found that the entire TMJ jawbone wasn’t functioning and needed to be replaced. So, now it’s metal.
Fast forward to when the swelling was gone and my TMJ joint wasn’t staying in place. We discovered the socket was destroyed. Now, I have to wait until a prosthetic can be made. There’s people that have been waiting on the same part since May of last year that are STILL waiting. So, I have to live with my jawbone out of place for another year or two. That’s not so much the issue as the fact that I’ve developed, basically, Bell’s Palsy in connection with the second surgery. That has taken my confidence level to an all time low. BUT, I am a hopeful and funny person, and I am more than my looks. The people in my life have been so supportive of me and even my students have been so amazing through it all. We laugh through all the funny faces, now. But that’s who you have to be or you’ll never get through something so traumatic.
All this to say, I’m grateful for the amazing people in my life and for staying humble and grounded because of this.
Anyways, that’s a little of my life update and why I’ve been MIA with my business the last few months…however, I’m back and ready to throw down with some amazing sessions! Including this awesome one of my best friend’s boy! He used to call me his gf when he was three. 🤣 How time has flown…This boy is going to OSU on a track scholarship this next fall. It’s unreal but I’m so proud of him and I wish him all the best in life! you did SUCH an amazing job on this kid. I’m so proud of YOU, also!
