Sun burst at Bela Brook

Yesterday I visited Bela Brook Conservation Area for the first time. It was a lovely walk in the woods. The brook was iced over and snowed over so I was not able to get any photos by the water, but I'm definitely excited to come back during warmer weather and try some compositions.

Sunrise Boat Ride

As we approach another weekend in New England with harsh frigid temperatures, I wanted to share a photo taken from last summer from Cape Elizabeth, Maine taking sunrise photos of the lighthouse. While getting photos, I saw this boat heading out to the ocean and wanted to grab a photo while it was in alignment with the sun. I hope you enjoy and look forward to the same temperatures from when this photo was taken.

Chilly Full Moon in Portsmouth

On Sunday Morning, Josh Robert Nature Photography and I woke up super early and met in Portsmouth before traveling over towards the coast. Josh had done lots of research in regards to aligning this shot. Once we got there, we met Shirley Reed Photography and Gal Steinberg Photography who also made the trek out in the sub-zero feels like temperatures. After waiting for a bit watching the moon start to set, we all eventually were able to line up the shots we wanted. It was so interesting to see how everyone had a slightly different lineup they wanted and composition. It was definitely a shot to remember!

Sunrise Sea Fog

It was an early and chilly rise this morning to begin my day driving to New Castle. After parking at the park, I, and a few others who also braved out this morning, lined up waiting for the chance for the sunrise to pop out behind Whaleback Lighthouse. Unfortunately, a dense cloud bank had settled in behind the lighthouse and decided to stay throughout the sunrise. I had given up hope for the morning and gone back to my car when all of the sudden the sun appeared above the clouds and started to light up the sky. I hopped out of my car and snagged a few more photos before I headed home!

A throwback from Fall!

Got my film developed from my roll I've had in my Nikon F since fall! This image is from a drive with Josh Robert Nature Photography following the Connecticut River on our way back to Vermont for the sunset. I've been testing new methods for scanning my film and I'm finally finding a way to get images without the colors looking super flat! Excited to share more!

Cedar Waxwings in Flight

Last week while Josh Robert Nature Photography and I spent a morning at Plum Island, Massachusetts doing some birding, we came across a tree filled with Cedar Waxwings. I love how vibrant the yellow stomachs on those birds are, which is why this photo became one of my favorites of the day. After feasting near some berries bushes, the group eventually took flight and I was able to snag this photo of their famous yellow bellies.

Happy New Year! Starting off this year strong with a perched short-eared owl on a tree this morning on Plum Island. Had a nice sunrise drive with Josh Robert Nature Photography, who also got some great photos today.

I was on my way to Rye yesterday for an engagement photoshoot when I had this friend fly over and land in a tree while i was driving! I was able to pull over and get a few photos before it flew away!

One of my favorite parts about revisiting older photo archives is finding photos I overlooked at the time. This was from my 2024 trip to Torres Del Paine National Park in Chile, I had taken this while exploring a riverbank near where we were staying for the night. The sky was just starting to turn to dusk and the mountains and the sky began to capture some light pink hues, which matched the pink flowers on the riverbank. Really makes me miss this trip, I want to go back some day.

Last night was another night to remember, with some of the strongest Aurora I've seen, very clearly visible to the naked eye. During one of the earlier substorms, I was able to take this 10 photo panorama overlooking Penacook Lake. The photos were taken on my 14mm lens, since the Aurora was almost directly overhead, I had to shoot as wide as possible. I'm excited for the possibility for another large storm tonight, happy hunting!
