Hey everyone, I wanted to give a little update for this weekend’s water sessions.
I went down to the water spot today to check the trail and make sure it was safe. I also took a few pictures so you could see what it looks like right now.
Once you get down the staircase, the path to the water is mostly dirt. With all the rain we had last week, the water has been running down the side of the trail, and because it is heavily covered by trees, it is not getting enough sunlight to dry out.
At first, part of the trail seemed okay, but once I got closer to the steeper areas where we would need to step down, it quickly turned into very soft, thick mud about 3–4 inches deep. I actually hit a muddy spot and slipped, but thankfully I am okay. This is exactly why I wanted to check it before bringing anyone down there.
The location itself looks absolutely beautiful, but right now I do not feel like I can safely get everyone down the path with the mud being that thick.
My husband and I are going to check it again tomorrow evening after my last session to see if there is any chance it has dried up enough, but I do want to give everyone a heads up that I am not confident it will be ready for Sunday.
For everyone who had their last water session canceled because of rain, and for anyone scheduled this coming Sunday, I want to give you two options:
You can move your session into a future session of your choice, or we can wait and reschedule this exact water session for a later date once the trail has had more time to dry out.
I know you all understand this is completely out of my control. I truly wish I could make the trail safe enough for us, but your safety means more to me than any photos we could ever take.
I still plan to check it again tomorrow evening, and I will message everyone if the sessions need to be rescheduled.
I am so sorry, guys. I promise I am trying my best. I just cannot control all this crazy rain we have had, and I will always choose your safety first.
