The colors, the colors! 😍 Wednesday was just the most beautiful day, with the nicest late Oct temperatures imaginable and those fall leaves just showing off like crazy...perfect for gorgeous Emily's senior session at Kathryn Albertson Park. I loved her outfit - the simplicity of the black top and the pop of color with the burgundy leggings that brought out the fall hues so perfectly - and her choice to put her hair up halfway through the session was such a wonderful way to change up the look a little without switching outfits! Kenna 😍 The fall colors were out in force for this beautiful girl's senior session yesterday, and even though we were eyeing one very dark cloud warily the whole time, any rain drifted south of us and we even got a bit of sunshine peeking through at times for a magical golden glow 😊 Kenna has the sweetest giggle and I'm so glad we got such a lovely day for her photos...and that we ran into her bestie doing senior photos as well and got a photo of the two girls together 😁 What timing! It's here! Fall foliage season by the river ALWAYS hits later than most people think, often not really starting until mid-October and not peaking until now, so it was a joy to see the colors finally out in full force yesterday 😍 And boy does this family have some incredible luck: two Sundays in a row with fantastic conditions, first for Aidan's senior session last week and now for family photos! Of course the rest of Eagle seemed to be out too, but we still carved out some space for ourselves, especially when we ventured out onto the sandbar with the most magical middle-of-the-water look. Here's a sneak peek!

When fall is your favorite season, we certainly have to do it justice...and I think we got the perfect day for it yesterday with Chaz's senior session! That light cloud cover just made the foliage pop like crazy and I couldn't believe how vibrant the leaves were looking 🍂 I loved Chaz's minimalist outfits - perfect to not compete with the fall colors too much - and am so glad we fit this in before all the rain and wind today 😊 Plus, getting to reunite with clients I first photographed years ago (in this case, eight!) and see how much kids have grown is always a delight - swipe through to the very end for young Chaz and his siblings 😁 Here's a sneak peek from this fun session!

The dynamic duo is back! Andrew and Teddy are the sweetest father and son ever, and this year's session with them was just as fun and adorable as the previous ones, just with a slightly bigger kid 😊 Dad is determined to be able to lift Teddy one-handed for as long as possible (they told me they've been practicing), and between many impressive lifts, sword fights, rolls in the leaves, and chasing of bunnies (the bunbuns have invaded the Boise Bench in general - delightful if you don't have to deal with them 😅), we had the best time. Look at those grins! 🥹 Here's a sneak peek out of waaay too many favorites!

That fall light though!! ☀️ We're finally starting to get to peak foliage season (it always happens later than you think) and the Military Reserve was looking just gorgeous yesterday. A million other people seemed to think so too, because Mountain Cove Rd was as busy as I've ever seen it and it seemed like we were pausing every 30 seconds for Aidan's photos with his badass car 😅 But the resulting dust cloud looked pretty cool in photos, and once we migrated down to Cottonwood Creek, we were able to find a little more peace and quiet (although we still passed half a dozen other photoshoots). Aidan was so patient and good-natured through the whole thing though and has such a natural smile - he was such a remarkably good sport for someone who wasn't super stoked about senior photos to begin with, like many senior boys. It's a Sunday during the school year, which obviously means it's time for another - and who better to feature than Ryan? 😎 This guy has such an effortlessly cool and confident vibe about him (the dapper outfit and great head of hair certainly don't hurt!) and we lucked out with such a perfect day at the Depot (apart from the construction 🙄), with beautiful warm temperatures and barely any crowds. I've been photographing Ryan since his family's first session with me 3.5 years ago, and I can't believe he's already a senior! Sorry for calling you by your older brother's name a couple times, Ryan (you guys look so much alike!), but at least your mom and I managed to keep our chitchat about hiking and running to a minimum like we promised 😁 Here's a sneak peek!

Aww buddy 🥹❤️ Teddy is a Saint Bernard senior pup who recently became a tripod doggie due to surgery, but even being a leg short hasn't slowed his enthusiasm. This gentle giant still loves to gallop around (sometimes with patient harness assistance from his parents Katie and Patrick), ears a-flopping, and of course was all about those scritches, belly rubs, and bacon treats 😍 You can see how much love Teddy's humans have for him written on their faces, and that love reflected right back in his sweet droopy eyes! What a beautiful session with this floofy drool machine - here's a sneak peak from yesterday 😊

When you say you love being in the mountains, to the mountains we must go! ⛰️ The Bogus Basin Rd area is no 12er (and one of Kellan's goals is to climb all nine 12,000' peaks in Idaho, so of course we had lots to talk about! 😁) but it does boast some incredibly beautiful scenery, especially with the vivid red brush in the fall - perfect for this outdoorsy guy. I could tell that climbing up on tree stumps and boulders and scampering down gravelly slopes was totally in his wheelhouse, and it brought a big smile to his face just being up in the hills! And that guitar and those hats...I'm just sad we didn't have enough time for him to play us a song as part of the shoot 🎶 Thanks for a wonderful time, Kellan and family, hope you enjoy these sneak peeks as much as I do!

There's "I sort of like books" and "I love books so much I want a mobile book trolley to be the centerpiece of my senior session" 😍📚 And I'm so glad Audrey falls into the latter category! I was so excited to have Curbside Books as our main stage for this beautiful girl's session yesterday, staged perfectly in the fall leaves at Julia Davis Park, and boy was it just as magical as I hoped 🥹 Those beautiful colors and light streaming through the windows...so amazing and cinematic! (More challenging: asking Audrey to pick some favorite books - out of the laundry basket of books she brought - for certain poses. It's like choosing a favorite child 😬 ) We capped off the session with some outdoor photos wandering around the park and river (fall has finally decided to feel like fall...took it long enough 🥴) and that carpet of fallen leaves just added to the magic ✨ Thank you so much for a wonderful session, Audrey, you are the sweetest and I hope we made all your book-loving dreams come true!
