When you've been taking photos together for 10 years now...you eventually gotta recreate some of the oldies but goodies 😁 The Jacksons are still one of my favorite client origin stories - who else can I say I first met at a hot springs?! - and I love that they've stayed in touch over the years! I still picture the boys as teeny tiny, but that was way back in 2016 and apparently that was quite a while ago, even though my brain still thinks it's yesterday 😅 Turns out some poses are slightly harder to do when everyone is 6' tall vs 3' tall, and some logs are a bit more challenging to fit three young men on vs three small boys, but we did our best and had a hoot with it. Or at least the parents and I did - the boys just put up with it 😆 Here's a sneak peek of these delightful people!

Silly families are my favorite families, and these guys were a hoot 😍 It's not often you get everyone in the same place when they're spread out all over the country/world (hey, Canada counts as international! 🇨🇦), and I loved that they wanted to commemorate the occasion with an extended family photoshoot...especially because they were staying at a beautiful Airbnb out in the woods in Robie Creek! A beautiful drive through the hills and forests to where it was 15 degrees cooler and I could admire elk and turkeys en route? Say less! 😊 What a beautiful evening with some great people - here's a sneak peek from Wednesday.

DID YOU KNOW that as annoying as this smoky summer is, the haze can actually create a really magical glow for portraits? Case in point: headshots for the beautiful Joslynn here! This pretty lady is an aspiring actress who needed a new set of headshots, and the slightly smoky evening we got at Julia Davis Park gave us the most beautiful reddish light 😍 I love when I work with folks excited to get headshots taken (although I won't be offended if you tell me headshots are your least favorite thing ever, either, because I hear it all the time 😅), and actresses like Joslynn are so wonderfully emotive and a joy to photograph 😊 Here are a few favorites from her session!

Reagyn ❤️❤️ This gorgeous girl and her mom were in town from Reno visiting family for a really short window, so I was so glad we were able to fit in a beautiful senior session in that timeframe without TOO much smoke and only a little on the sweaty side with the heat 😅 Reagyn came in with a vision of beautiful meadows, fields, and flowers, so we had to hit both Kathryn Albertson Park and the Military Reserve for a little bit of everything, and boy is this girl an amazing model, knocking it out of the park with all her outfits and every pose I gave her...including some of the best hair flips I've ever seen 🤩 Thanks for shooting with me, Reagyn - here's a sneak peek out of so so many favorites!!

Introducing the class of 2027! 😎🎓 Senior sessions are my favorite, so I'm stoked that it's that time of year again...and I couldn't think of a better senior to kick off the season than this guy. Ryder and his mom were visiting all the way from Anchorage, and I was so flattered they came down to Boise for this shoot - so much so that I couldn't wait to show them all of the coolest spots in Boise and make the trip worth their while! It didn't help that Boise sort of lit itself on fire a couple days before Ryder's session, but it did make for some cool apocalyptic shots with the foothills in the background, and fortunately the smoke wasn't bad at all 😅 Ryder is such a natural model and had the best minimalist color palette in his wardrobe that paired perfectly with every location we hit up, and I'm so excited for him and his mom to see this sneak peek! Now bring on the rest of the class of '27 - I'm ready!

What better way to commemorate three different sides of the family being reunited in one place from all across the world than one big family photoshoot? ❤️ These guys came to Boise from as far as Australia for their reunion, and they had the most perfect day by the river for their photos, with my favorite gorgeous tree tunnel and river beach area serving as perfect backgrounds 🌳 Every member of the family brought a smile to my face, but especially those two pudgy babies with their tiny bows...adorable 🥰 Here's a sneak peek from last week!

Rockstar evenings in the city 😎🌇 Downtown always has something for everyone, whether it's grungy graffiti, old vintage brick, aerial views of the city skyline from some favorite parking garages, and just a hint of nature with some dazzling sunsets - and we got a little bit of everything for this wonderful family's annual session. I love getting to see kids grow over the years, and this year I barely even recognized Ewan at first with his new longer hair and giving his dad a run for his money height-wise! I think 2026 marks 10 years since I first photographed these guys, so maybe I can be forgiven for still thinking of Ewan as a small kiddo 😄 Anyway, here's a sneak peek from last week's session!

If you need me, I hope you don't actually need me, because I'll be off the grid climbing mountains the next few days!! 😁⛰🥾 Hang tight on those inquiries and I'll get back to you by early next week 😊 In the meantime, here's a smattering of me dramatically looking at things, goofing off, and trying not to fall off piles of rocks, which is a good summary of my hiking/climbing process in general. Points if you know where any of these places are or were with me on the climb! If you're at zero points, ask me about mountains on your next photoshoot with me if you're still curious, it's my favorite topic! (Or don't, because I'll talk your ear off 🙃) Most photos shot by or with help from my husband John (who features in the very last photo - a post-wedding shoot we did just for fun) 😊

And whoa, look at me doing a post showing my face ~fOr ThE eNgAgEmEnT~...but you know, mostly showing the back of my head, because I'm a rebel like that 😎 See you next week, friends!

📆 SUMMER/FALL CALENDAR UPDATE!! 🍁 Dates are open through the end of the year (they have been for a while in fact, I'm just bad at social media lately 😅), and that INCLUDES fall (because y'all are obsessed with leaves 😁 Don't knock the beauty of summer green and splashing in the river though!). Weekends are VERY limited right now, but I have a few scattered throughout the summer, a few in September, at least one in October, and a couple before Thanksgiving in November 😊 Still a good number of weekday evening slots, too!

As a refresher, fall foliage tends to be best the 2nd week of Oct through the 1st week or two of Nov (red leaves = good earlier in the fall, gold leaves = later in the fall), but it can vary depending on summer heat, fall cold, windstorms, etc. 🍂

So if you're a class of '27 senior (or parent of one), college grad, haven't had family photos since the kids were toddlers, just want cute photos throwing leaves at your partner, all that, now's the time to secure your date before they all get snapped up. It's river season! ☀️ It's sure feeling like summer out there even if the solstice is still a few days away, meaning on days like yesterday with highs in the mid-90s (oof), we make a beeline for the shade and the water 😊 And - if you're feeling adventurous - the shoes come off and we get to have some splashy fun! Double points if you're feeling super adventurous and want to run straight into the river in your dress, too 😎 This family is the sweetest and I had so much fun meandering around Veterans Memorial Park with them last night and showing them all my favorite places, including objectively the most magical tree in Boise 🌳 Here's a sneak peek!
