A new to me Dragonfly 📸

The Eastern Amberwing is a tiny species of dragonfly belonging to the skimmer family. About the size of 1 inch (21 to 25 millimeters). I assume that this one is a female because the clear wings marked with distinctive brown spots and blotches rather than solid amber like the males have. But I am still learning so if I am wrong please correct me 😄📸

Happy National Hummingbird Day. I just love watching hummingbirds in their natural habitat, surrounded by beautiful flowers 💐 Getting the opportunity to photograph and observe them this year sure was amazing and i am looking forward to finding more opportunities down the road 📸

Today also marks my 2 year arrival to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, i learned so much about nature and new to me animals and I am looking forward to see what els I can find while living here on the coast 📸

I never had much luck in getting this close to an ant like this before and i really like how this shot turned out 📸

Worker ants are about 8–10 millimeters (0.31–0.39 in) in length and generally wasp-like in appearance. They are bi-colored, the head and abdomen are dark, while the antennae, mouthparts, thorax and legs are dull orange with dark shading.

Hello September… Still hot here on the Coast but I am dreaming about autumn air and chancing colors.
When I photographed this Milkweed Assassin Bug i got reminded of the warm colors of fall and each year I am looking forward to this season, I think fall always has been my favorite time 🤗📸🍁

As I was sitting and watching the Yellow Crowned Night Heron, I looked to my left and a Clapper Rail walks right past me. I did hold my breath a little and tried not to move my lens to quickly, I feel like they can hear me breath and will run off. This individual was pretty ok with me though hanging around. What a day 😄📸

The Clapper Rail is a very secretive, small chicken-sized bird that lives in dense coastal salt marshes and mangrove swamps. You will hear their loud, clattering calls before you ever spot one.

Jackpot 🦀

I watched this bird for over an hour just sitting and not moving much, but then it started moving out of nowhere like a lightning strike it picked up a blue crab, I don’t thing the crab knew what was happening to him. It took maybe 2 min and lunch was done. Buy that point I was hungry too and thankful i didn’t have to catch anything, leftover day for me 😬
