DON’T LET YOURSELF GET DEHYDRATED. 💧
I learned this one the hard way.
After running a half marathon, I hadn’t taken in enough fluids or electrolytes. By the time I finished, I was so dehydrated that I couldn’t drink enough water to catch up.
So… I needed an IV treatment to rehydrate.
Lesson learned: hydration starts BEFORE the finish line.
If you’re running, exercising, traveling, or simply spending a lot of time in the heat:
💧 Drink water throughout the day — don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
⚡ Add electrolytes, especially with prolonged or sweaty exercise.
🧂 Replace sodium and other electrolytes lost through sweat.
🍌 Refuel with food after a long workout — fluids + carbohydrates + protein help recovery.
🏃♀️ During longer runs, drink regularly rather than trying to catch up afterward.
And remember: more water isn’t always the answer. When you sweat heavily for a long time, you also need to replace electrolytes.
Your body is giving you signals. Listen to them.
Hydrate. Fuel. Recover. Then get back in motion. 💗
