Thank you to Nancy McMenamin Photography for sharing this photo she snagged tonight as we are on the road traveling. Feel free to give her a follow as well as she is a frequent island fan and friend of ours.

Throwback Thursday

The top picture is of Bonnie and she is one of the 9 mares currently on the Northern End. On 10/22/2019, ALL of the Northern End mares left their stallion, Chestnut, and traveled to the Developed Area. They stayed for a few days, and then returned back up north.

I have never know of this to happen again. It was wonderful to see all of them, and stallion Yankee, to the dismay of his lead mare, Gokey Go-Go Bones was quite smitten with Bonnie.

The second picture was taken after Gokey had enough of Bonnie being around.

Things change within days, hours, or minutes on the Island. This was taken on 10-10-2026 and stallion Ray of Light had mares Marina, Bella Boo, Aster Linia, and Harmony in his band.

That changed in a few days and Marina and Bella Boo became part of Mr. Frisky Hooves band.

It appears that after Flying Diamond lost his dam (Alexandria's Angel), he found his way to his sire Assateague Lightning). They walked back and forth between the Developed Area and the OSV for a few weeks before Flying Diamond joined up with the bachelor boys.
