The thing about small businesses like ⠀⠀⠀➳ＨＥＡＲＴ oＦ ＧＯＬＤ • ＫＩＤＳ➳ is the little touch each owner puts on their store. You can walk in and get a feel for their personality and what brings them joy. If I had to describe Emily based off her two locations it would definitely be be — sunshine (and lots of it), a big dose of feeling sentimental and anything that would set you up for a good beach day.

Brooke + Julia opened their very own salon on Chincoteague Island. They worked tirelessly to make it their own (recruiting their husbands too) and the day came that they were able to call it theirs.

I love so much about this — first being two women who decided to work together to build something instead of one person working alone. I have found myself at this very place in my business too! I believe it’s better to build a team than to try and do it all yourself.

If you’re from the Eastern Shore, there’s a really good chance you know all about Island Creamery . The long list of homemade ice cream flavors and the smell of fresh waffle cones when you walk in the door — there’s no wonder it’s a rarely a lone line at either of the three locations.

Getting to get an inside peek of the work that Tina Tingle | Interiors + Shop has done was so inspiring. I’ve never seen such a pretty bathroom or a cozier living room. She is truly gifted at her craft.

We live in an area where a lot of our business is seasonal. This means we have roughly five months (or less) to make a year’s with of income. It can absolutely be done, and done well if we are getting in front of our potential clients before they arrive in town!

Lucky for us, our socials do a lot of the marketing if we have photos to share! Today, Instagram is used more as a search tool than a place to share personal photos!

I have openings for July + August. I’d love to see how we can work together for your Summer business!!

One of my absolute favorite local bakeries has to be — being a dairy free girl, they have food that I can eat and it’s SO, SO GOOD. If you’re gluten free, this is 110% your spot, as it’s a dedicated gluten free bakery!

They now are serving hot liege waffles (that are both gluten and dairy free) at the Berlin Farmers Market on Sunday’s and I already can’t wait to get to try one!!
