Sometimes it's hard to share insight about something, especially when I am photographing larger leagues and communicating across such a large group. I want to talk about shipping charges. In the past, I have even received negative feedback about charging shipping, and I think many people will be surprised about the process.
For all leagues, I offer a free shipping time frame that allows them to place their orders with a free shipping charge (usually 3-7 day window, depending on when galleries publish). It encourages people to get their order placed in a timely fashion. When the window closes, that large order prints and ships together, coming to me from my professional print lab in Missouri. It arrives, is sorted, organized and delivered to the league where it can be distributed as efficiently as possible.
When a customer places an order outside of the free shipping window, the order is processed by the website, sent directly to the lab and promptly ships from Missouri- to customers front door. There is a cost for that. I do not fulfill and print these orders in house. They are coming straight to you from our professional lab. I hope this helps better explain the need for a shipping charge when ordered outside of the free shipping window!! And don't forget, you can always order DURING the free shipping window to avoid any shipping charges. Please note that if you are concerned about something, you can always ask your photographer.
