Do you know the real reason you should have photos taken?

Because if you keep waiting for the perfect time, you’ll be waiting forever.

I know this because I’m living it right now.
My boys are 7 and 5, and I feel like I’m constantly mourning the version of them that existed just a few months ago.

The little kid words disappear.
The missing teeth get replaced.
The bedtime snuggles become less frequent.

And while I know there are so many amazing stages ahead, I also know these versions of them are gone the moment we leave them behind.

Sometimes I think about how, one day, they’ll be teenagers and probably won’t be nearly as excited to take photos as they are now.

And that’s exactly why I take them.

The ordinary moments we’re living today are the memories I’ll miss the most tomorrow.

Because while the camera matters… there’s actually SO much more that goes into your photos than people realize.

The planning.
The timeline.
The lighting.
The movement prompts.
The location scouting.
The editing afterward.

A one-hour session usually turns into many more hours behind the scenes to create a gallery that feels natural, connected, and true to you.

If you’ve ever wondered how photographers capture those perfect photos… this is part of the process.

During a session, I’m constantly shooting through movement, laughter, awkward in-between moments, wind-blown hair, blinking, adjusting, all of it.

Because the magic usually happens somewhere in the middle of all those frames.

Out of 500+ images, these were the ones that stood out to me most. The ones that felt natural, effortless, and real.

This is why I always tell moms not to stress about their kids sitting perfectly or everyone looking at the camera at the same time. We don’t need every photo to be perfect. We just need a few moments that truly feel like you.
