What a special portrait session! In Japanese culture there is a holiday called shichigosan, which translates directly to 7-5-3, and celebrates children at those ages. The children dress up in beautiful traditional kimono and hakama and take photos, but I was so happy the entire family decided to all dress up too! Even though these scenes look straight from Japan, this was actually photographed in LA as so many families of Japanese background still celebrate here, my own included! My sister and I both dressed up for shichigosan, so it’s truly so meaningful to be able to photograph such a wonderful tradition 🌸//

Here’s your proof that family portraits can feel editorial too! Especially as your little ones get older, we can work more with different poses and dramatic vibes to create some beautiful refined and artistic images. The sheer magic that happens when you trust your photographer to take you to a second location 🤍 This backdrop required just a little bit of a drive from their ceremony location, but Carol & Abed were so sweet and trusting and willing to make the trip so we could get some stunning images of the two of them. As with so many of my couples, they expressed that photography was a priority to them, so we had allocated plenty of space in the timeline which allowed for beautiful relaxed portraits. I love that we had time to create and wander, and most of all just pause for these sweet moments that allowed them to just really soak in the day!🌿//

These two eloped in Hawaii but decided to follow with a sweet island inspired reception in Santa Monica with their closest family and friends. They held it at the intimate TIATO Kitchen + Venue, a little garden tucked away from all the busyness of the city, and it was such a special celebration! The love between these two is truly so inspiring beautiful and really reminded me why I feel so thankful to do what I do ❤️🌺 //

That just-engaged feeling 🤍 These were taken just minutes after he popped the question with a gorgeous proposal set up by The Yes Girls- Luxury Proposal and Event Planning - SimplyU at HOTEL THE MONTAGE.
